Allen Antique Barn — Local services in Allen Township

My husband and I traveled from Indiana to visit some antique stores. We arrived a little after 4, knowing this place closed at 5. I was really excited to see a good amount of Fenton and was looking forward to exploring but I knew we needed to be kind of quick. I found a kitten and puppy picture that I loved and debated on buying. I found a beautiful Sleeping Beauty doll by Madame Alexander that was going to come home with me for sure. My husband took some photos of toys to send to a friend who replied that he would like us to purchase them. This whole time I am watching the time. So, we hear the lady working yell out that it was 4:55 and they would close in 5 minutes. I looked at my phone and it was 4:51. Okay, whatever. I told my husband let's go grab the items we wanted and check out. We were having problems finding the toys again. My husband and I stood right next to the desk and said let's check the back aisle. Mind you we are being very quick at this point but we had to slow down because they turned off the lights only in the aisle we were in and where they knew we were. So we go back to the desk, show the lady a picture of the toys. She very rudely replied "nope, never seen it". My husband says I'll just look down this aisle. It's now 4:55. She said you better hurry because I'm closing this place a 5. At 4:56, we gave up and I decided not to buy the items from your wonderful vendors because your staff is rude. The horrible gray haired lady whose face would break if she cracked a smile was standing at the door at 4:56 to make sure she locked it the second we stepped out. There were still customers inside and I hope they weren't treated as badly as we were treated. The vendors had wonderful products but Hagatha at your front counter is wretched. I will never return to this store or to Allen to shop again so if your business neighbors or vendors are reading this I hope they take Hagatha to task because they lost sales...

VENDORS BEWARE. The vendors have great items but the customer service is absolutely horrible, unkind and so rude. 2 older ladies cost vendors so much in sales. Can tell no commission by way treat customers. They will not reach out to vendors no matter how much you have from that booth. Booth E13 lost out on at least 50.00 from just me because they refused to reach out about an item without a tag that was hanging up with everything else I had. I understand no tag no sale. I do. But I don't understand not being willing to try to identify the item of they have an idea of where it came from. I had 5 or 6 other clothing items in my hands and I wasn't done yet. The moment I saw no tag I went straight to the desk and asked for help. The shoulder length gray haired woman seemed angry/annoyed by any questions and genuinely seemed to hate any interactions with anyone. The other older lady with a cain was not pleasant either. They were the same to another group of people as well. Losing those vendors money too. Multiple people pulled their purchases for to them being so unwilling to help. I can see why vendors are leaving this place. They definitely don't care if they make a sale or if they cost their vendors sales. They actually told me that if there is no tag then that is the vendors problem and not theirs. I'm from out of town over an hour away so I don't get to come up often. So putting my name down with the list in found is not really a doable option. When all they would have to do is simply reach out to the vendor and try. Or at least be more kind and act like you care about the sale. This place used to be packed and it seems more and more are backing out. I'm guessing this is the reason. Well, at one time, this area was hopping. Today.not so much. I guess I had my hopes set to high . Being the antique capital of michigan, I was I little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty to choose from in about 5 different buildings, but it seemed like each building had the same exact stuff but placed in different places.
