We came here yesterday (March 1st) just to grab some coffee and enjoy the scenery on my husbands birthday. The property was just beautiful! A very Zen vibe and a lovely spot to be outside and enjoy the grounds. I had never been there before but hubby had- this was where he wanted to spend the morning on his special day. The parking lot is cramped and although we didn’t have any problems yesterday, I imagine it’s pretty tight on busy days or weekends. But there also appears to be places to park outside on the street. The weather was nice and we spent about a hour just walking around outside enjoying the sunshine. There are SO many cute, scenic little spots to take pics, watch the children playing, sit with the chickens, or watch the bees flying from flower to flower. There’s a garden maze they said will bloom in April and a water feature including a little bridge. They bring character and charm to the property and adds to the overall garden-farm atmosphere. SO MANY beautiful blooming flowers!!! The coffee shop is right in front upon entering and very cute. I loved my mango iced tea the gentleman working there made. He was really nice. I think he’s one of the owners. I met the other owner inside in the gift shop and we chatted a little bit though I kinda felt like I was bothering her. She was pleasant enough I guess. I’m probably just too chatty. I was just excited because I wasn’t expecting such a wonderful selection! - so many great choices it made me want to hang out and take my time looking around. I’ll have to come back specifically for gift shopping some other time. There were many gorgeous, artisan style gift ideas! Lots of handmade and artistic pieces - I could’ve spent hours in there thinking of people I needed to get stuff for! Haha! A much better, more interesting selection than other places (I hate shopping in big box stores or online) Literally there’s a possibility of something for everyone- depending on the occasion. I hope to visit again soon and will definitely spend more time looking around at all the special treasures this shop had to offer. Overall - a lovely place! I recommend a visit even if it’s a bit out of the way if you don’t live near Alpine. It’s...
Read moreThis charming farm quickly earned the title of one of "My Happy Places" and is a must-see for anyone visiting the surrounding area! It was like stepping into a secluded shire and absolutely breathtaking. I explored every pathway and took in all of the amazing details that give this place its unique charm. It really is like stepping into a fairytale!
The little play areas for children are so wonderfully thoughtful and ensure parents can enjoy the beautiful cafe area. The restrooms are clean, well stocked and handicap and stroller accessible. Leashed pets are welcome.
The gift shop was absolutely amazing too. Again, the careful attention to every detail is evident in the specific curation of what's offered. Prices are incredibly reasonable, which we found particularly refreshing and wanted to support. While inside, I had the privilege of meeting one of the owners who was just lovely to speak with. She was genuinely appreciative that we had come by and I was happy to share with her that I was leaving feeling inspired to create my own backyard projects and plant flowers. Back home in SC, I've just finished planting seeds and getting pastel petunias in the ground ... all because Summer's Past Farm inspired me to be outside and to grow something beautiful. Thank you for the AMAZING time and for the sweet memories with my family made at your beautiful...
Read moreToday was our first time visiting Summers Past Farm. I came home and started to write a review of this beautiful day. I came across such a negative review and it struck me as very rude. I have decided to respond: In response to Cindy Pugh's review. I cannot imagine that the owners (I'm fairly sure that the people Cindy referred to 'are' the owners) are as rude as Cindy alluded to. I found them to be delightfully friendly and very knowledgeable about plants, etc. The owner made us feel so welcomed. Their entire property is very lovingly maintained and has a very peaceful vibe. Perhaps this bad review is a reflection on Cindy's state of mind. Sounds to me that she's just using the gardens open space to let her kids come play for free, disrupting the peacefulness of this most beautiful garden. Maybe it's time to take your children elsewhere. I highly recommend visiting this lovely garden. We will most certainly be back...
