Fun local hike for those in the Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley area. There are multiple routes to get here but I took the trail up to Echo Mountain (parking at the North end of Lake Ave) before taking the Sam Merrell Trail up to Inspiration Point.

The trail is moderate to strenuous for short periods and was just under 10 Miles round trip. I would allot 4.5-5 hours...

Most people think this pavilion is inspiration point but the real peak is right next to it. It’s a little deep slope to the top, part of it has a rope. The view at the top is way better than inspiration points pavilion. You can see mt Lowe at north and you can keep cross country for several small peaks. Everyone...
