My kiddo brought me here for my first airsoft event and it was certainly an experience. The fields were soaked after days of rain so the swamp of mud was a bit tricky to navigate. I got thousands of steps - I had no idea what I was getting into. I also hadn’t done my research on how most of the guns and the magazines work. Don’t be like me - check it out beforehand.
I was surprised to see so many people participating; maybe 100-150? It was an event day so we basically had the run of the whole place but it was a workout. Lots of climbing, running, ducking, and crawling. They have lots of accessories and rental guns/gear and supplies in the trailer. Everyone working here is mega friendly.
The refs were helpful and while it sounds like it would be nice to have more (lots of complaints at the FOB about people not “calling their shots”) they were pretty available.
As a gun owner this concept sounds very cool. There were lots of folks who were ALL in on the hobby - appearing to have often spent $1000’s. As an avid hunter the experience was less than ideal - tiny “plastic” bb’s are very susceptible to the wind. You’ll go through a boatload of ammo. Your batteries will be drained and/or your air tank will be emptied. It would be nice if some sort of gun battery charging station was available.
It’s way more of an honor system than paintball for sure. That gets very aggravating. But if you haven’t been you should at least try...
Read moreI'll give it four stars, but your rental gun situation is, understandably, a complete disaster. The ins and outs of your business are beyond me, but I am sure that you will create interest in far more prospects if their first experience doesn't result in a 50-75% failure rate on the guns they were unlucky enough to get. It was honestly like playing roulette today.
Innacuracy is one thing, and that's not an issue, but the guns need to be properly maintained so they operate as a reliably as possible. Breaking down at the start of a match, halfway through a match, or completely nonfunctional rental guns are things that are definitely unacceptable.
To be honest, I would be happy to pay more for a gun that just works! But 90% of the people there had their own weapons anyways, so I would say it is not a priority for them, or maybe even a possibility. But if you can fix that for future rookies like me, I'd say this would be a five star establishment.
Great service from all staff, I can tell they're just trying to work with what they have and provide a great experience for the customer, which they...
Read moreOne of the coolest places anywhere near St. Louis for airsofting. Has a really good community of players. Have met quite a few veterans, long time airsoft players, budget players and newbies/rentals that all got along well and made the whole experience and vibe of playing there amazing.
My only problem would be with renting an airsoft gun from them as their rentals seem to be very finnicky and can often be freustrating to have to use. Even a cheap Low power AEG is a good investment if you will come to this field more than once, which you should.
On rainy days or the days after bad weather the field can be slightly muddy, but its obvious that they have worked hard and continue to work to keep the fields in good condition and provide interesting experiences across the 5 or so outdoor fields they have you play on.
Ref's and owners have always been super nice, always willing to help out rentals and newer players to help give them the best experience possible, and for only $15 a day when you bring your own gear, its absolutely worth the trip out from Saint Louis or...
