Weekday golf at noon was great-great pace and they spaced the tee times far enough apart that there were not people hitting into your backs and you weren't waiting to tee off. There was an amateur event the next day, so drop zones and hazards were marked, course had a great cut. That's about it though, it is a pretty simple course. No bunkers, big wide open fairways, and a few poorly designed holes such as #6, and #10 is downright dangerous as you will have range balls flying at your back on the tee box and even up in the short grass before the green.
Playing on a Saturday at 2pm, 2 of us with a cart took 4.5 hours to play 18 holes. we had three 5somes and two 6somes in front of us, there was absolutely no chance of playing through. Any course that allows 5somes and even 6somes is not a golf course. The 5some in front of us was clearly overserved by the girl in the beverage cart(or brought too many beers), but the girl even advised that they needed to Uber home. She talked with them in the middle of the fairway, drove the cart down the middle of the fairway while we were about to tee off, etc.
If anyone in management reads this, I highly recommend you invest in a ranger who can monitor pace of play. Seems like the management is pretty greedy considering there were 13 people on ONE hole (6 putting on the green, 5 in the fairway looking for balls, 2 waiting...
Read moreHorrible manager, we booked 2 tie times so we wouldn’t be rushed while playing because I was teaching as I played with 2 new golfers. I had to wait 35mins past my tie time for 2 more carts that I paid for for my trainee golfers. Along with me cleaning up all the beer cans that I found from the front 9 holes as being respectful of the green as I was trying to play through while being rushed as someone booked on-top of our tie time. The manager herself “or so she claims to be” accused us of illegally drinking other booze on her coarse as we only bought what was given to us by the caddy girl. Never coming back. I’ve played at better coarses in the Des Moines area with less conflict for similar situations or none at all because it was a busy Sunday. By far the worse experience golfing I’ve had. The manager needs better respect, she’s shouldn’t be playing with clubs in her hand while making sure everyone is riding off at the appropriate tie times. My group should’ve had a 30mins gap between tie off. I was not given so as I booked 2 times 4...
Read moreUPDATE: 7/17/2020 - A majority of the greens are in HORRIBLE shape. Green rot. Some are unplayable like #17. They are working hard on the course like removing trees for improving speed of play. (I think they went a little overboard on some of their tree removal decisions). Fairways and tee boxes are solid and the rough is being maintained very well. Just be warned about the greens at this time. We’ll probably not go back this year unless they get them under control which is too bad because we really like the course when it is in good shape. —————————————————- 2017 review Well taken care of and maintained course. Can accommodate all skill levels. Nice clubhouse with...
