We had a friend tell us about The Silo steakhouse so we decided to give it a try. It was fantastic! The service was great. The young lady did a great job. We ordered the corn riblets and okra to start. Both were great, especially the okra. For entrees we ordered the Filet and Ribeye. The kids had the sliders and hotdog. The steaks were delicious and the kids ate all theirs. We finished with peach cobbler and the bowl was cleaned. Cut into the steaks so quickly, I didn’t have a chance to take pictures. We live in Fayetteville so it’s an easy 20 minute drive. We’ll definitely be back.

Pleasant experience overall for lunch on a Friday. Moderately busy, but not rushed. Service was very good but food does come out slowly. Mediocre food, I had a catfish sandwich, somewhat cold when served, bun was soggy with a sauce on both sides on the bread. Garnish was fresh. Fries seemed undercooked, cold and hard, if fresh they could be much better. Daily special was a steak quesadilla, poorly assembled with few large chunks of steak with a folded-over tortilla. Would be better thin sliced steak. More care could have made this a better lunch.

We found this little gem on our way back from Thomaston. We ordered some appetizers. That burger was AWESOME & thick at that. I've traveled quite a bit throughout Tennessee, NC, SC & Georgia, and the Silo's sweet tea...is THEE BEST this side of the Mason-Dixon Line! You won't be disappointed to stop by. My husband got the Nachos. They're bigger than usual and they weren't cheap with the ground beef either. It's not exactly cheap to eat at the Silo but it's worth it. Trust me. Thank you for the staff being so kind. We appreciated you all.

Normally I don’t post reviews after a bad experience, but after the experience we had last night and how poorly the situation was handled, I think it’s fair for the owner to know what’s going on when he/she is not there. We had a party of six that was celebrating a birthday. We traveled close to an hour to eat here since my husband raved about there Wagyu steaks. We were 1 of 2-3 tables when we first got there, and the last to leave. We waited two hours before being told half the food we ordered was out, they messed up every single one of our steaks, even the $60 Wagyu steaks that are recommended to be cooked no more than medium rare on their menu, came out extremely well done. I asked to speak with a manager, but had to wait half an hour before she came out. When she finally spoke to our table she was extremely unprofessional, rude and kept repeating “tell me how I’m suppose to fix it”. I’ve never been somewhere where the manager expected me to solve an issue. I tried to console her after she started crying by explaining to her half of our party we’re also in the restaurant business as well and we just want our correct order THATS IT, and she then got offended and talking about my age, rather than SOLVING THE PROBLEM OR GIVING ME THE CORRECT FOOD ORDER. Needless to say, we spent close to $300 on food we didn’t receive/eat. I don’t understand why I was forced to pay for food I never received. We arrived around 7:40 and I left after 10 with an empty stomach. By far the worst experience ever. I don’t see how this business will thrive if the management can’t solve simple problems or make decisions to help please the customer. I feel terrible for our friend for having that experience after we raved about taking her there for...

After reading an article about the best steakhouses a group of 9 of us had dinner at The Silo Steakhouse in Gay, GA., ranked #6 in the state of Georgia, The Silo is an unassuming building located on a country road (SR-85). Only open from Wednesday to Saturday, The Silo servers both lunch and dinners. Because it is not a large restaurant I would encourage people planning to dine to make reservations. Our group arrived at 5:30 and were promptly seated. We were one of only 4 – 5 tables seated but by 6:30 the place was packed. The dinner menu is simple, offering 2 steaks, a ribeye and a filet, chopped steak, hamburger, chicken and catfish filets plus a few other options all served along with 2 sides. The majority of our group went with either the ribeye or the filet. The ribeye is huge, 12 – 14 oz. and the filet was a beautiful 8 oz. cut of prime beef. I ordered my filet Pittsburg medium rare, sometimes known as black and blue. Everyone’s steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly with each slice being tender and juicy. Caesar salad and chopped salad are among the 10 sides offered. My wife and I both ordered the Caesar salad which was fresh and crisp with freshly grated parmesan cheese, croutons and a tasty dressing. Desert did not disappoint, we ordered the raspberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and it was perfect! The ribeye was priced at $35 while the filet was $36 and well worth the price. Amanda was our server and she was attentive, checking with us throughout our meal to see if we needed anything and confirming whether our meals were to our liking. I would highly recommend The Silo and will definitely be returning.

I had been hearing about the "Greatest Little Steakhouse in Georgia" and had to go try it out. I first checked it out online to get an idea about what they offered meal-wise and then considered whether or not I should make a reservation. The couple we were going with said they were told no reservations needed so we planned on and successfully arrived 10 minutes prior to opening. Upon entering we were asked if we had a reservation. Well. Upon hearing our negative answer, we were informed it would be a 45 minute wait. One hour and twenty-two minutes later, we were seated. The waitress was friendly and helpful and got our food out as quickly as possible. I had the 1/4 pound Silo Burger which was DELICIOUS. My friend had the catfish fillets, and my husband and his cousin had the steak. The meal was fabulous! Having said that though, it will have to be a night when I am really not very hungry or when I manage to eat either breakfast or lunch before going. By the time the food arrived, I was so hungry I could have eaten a mule, but the hamburger was so much more tasty and came with home cut french fries. Overall, the meal was very good. The wait with empty tables staring at you the whole time was NOT very good. If you have time to kill and nowhere else to go, check them out. You too might find the wait...
