We had a sewer drain issue that my 50ft manual feed snake would not clear. Since purchasing the house 32 years ago the only cleanout I knew of was 2" cast iron outside wall at the origin point of the drain system at the kitchen. I talked with several plumbing companies, most them wanted to re-attempt snaking, which I had already done twice with no result. If that didn't work then they would use the hydro jet high-pressure washer to attempt to clear. Our house being 60+ years old I did not want to risk the hydro-jetting, which could severely damage the piping under the slab, until the line was cleared. What I really needed was to know if I had a cleanout on the main sewer line where it exits the house and those companies wanted a additional large sum of money to use a camera with a locating sensor only after the line was cleared and flowing. We had used Mr Rooter in the past (before purchasing the 50' snake machine) so I called and asked them to have their most experienced tech call me. Albert called me back, he actually still had me as a contact in his phone after many years, and we discussed the situation and decided on a plan. Albert came out and used his camera and locator from the main roof vent to locate the blockage and where the main line exited the house. They tried the longest snake machine they could lift on the roof but it would not reach the blockage. Since they could not clear the blockage Albert said there was a 30 day warranty on the callout and that if I could find the existing cleanout or dig the line out and install one, he would come back and re-run the snake from there and clear it. I found the cleanout and Albert came back, ran the snake and cleared the blockage and ran his camera thru the lines to make sure it was clear and had no damage or remaining issues. Albert is very knowledgeable and friendly, explained things well and is a very skilled camera technician, the charges were reasonable and fair. Overall a fantastic experience and will continue to use Mr Rooter if problems...
Read moreOur water heater had been leaking. Mr. Rooter waived their service fee of $59 when I was going with another company. They charged us about $4,000 to put in a new water heater, get it up to code, including putting two brackets on our outside water hoses, and a $99, 5- year service plan. The repairman, , Ricky, said that with the purchase of the service plan, we would get a 15%discount on our bill and preferential service. Ricky said they would schedule the city inspector. We did not pass inspection. The far left pipe going to the ceiling wasn't screwed in. It has fallen into our gas line. My husband had to readjust it. Mr. Rooter sent Ricky back to fix it. We are waiting to see if we passed inspection. I guess a good thing is they didn't charge us to secure this pipe. Quite honestly, it has been a very expensive nightmare and the cost seemed extremely high. Ricky told me the cost of the water heater was $700, the rest of the cost was know how, compliance, and the service plan. The water heater was not moved, only replaced. The good thing was they came out the same day that I called. It took him 3 separate visits to...
Read moreI had a terrible experience. Bathtub faucet was replaced night before and water would not come out. Then we called Mr Rooter for their opinion. The man came out and said it would be $143.42 to go look under home. He put on a jumpsuit and no shoe covers. He tracked dirt all over my floor in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. He told us there were leaks from pipes. He checked meter. He says it was moving. We had 2 more plumbers from different companies come out and they both tell us there were no leaks under the home. We replaced the Bathtub faucet we bought and returned the one we bought and got a different one but same model and guess what? Water came through only to find it was a defective bathtub faucet. Beware of elderly people being told they have leaks when there isn't a leak. There was no leak, they want to replace the whole pipIng under the home. The man did not even try to fix it. He just gave a quote it would be way over 3,000 dollars. No, thank you. And then argue her worker left no dirt all over the floor when he left. I had to shampoo whole house when he left. Beware of this plumbing company. Very...
