Golden Road Crossing is a gem conveniently located just outside Baxter State Park. It's the perfect stop for hikers and campers. The pizza is delicious, and they offer a great selection of snacks, homemade baked goods, and camp supplies to stock up before hitting the trails. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, adding to the cozy atmosphere. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or preparing for a trip into the park, Golden Road Crossing has everything you need. Highly recommended!

Wonderfully stocked boutique with good selection and tasty menu. Located just south of BSP this lodge, restaurant and boutique shopping is a must stop going into or leaving BSP. Locally crafted items combined with necessities, souvenir clothing, hats, beer, liquor, wine and cabin decor. Staff was friendly and overhearing conversation is a stop for locals as well as visitors. As there are no shops in BSP, allow the good folks here to supply your needs as well as your shelf sitters.

The Breakfast Stromboli was so good that when I took the first bite, I walked back inside and ordered a full one to share with the paving crew. It's very amazing, and I wish I could give more stars. So flaky, buttery with bacon and fluffy eggs.

My wife and I had been coming up to Baxter State Park (BSP) for about 4 years and had always took advantage of the opportunity to visit the Golden Road Crossing. It is the last store before you reach BSP and our first stop on our way out.

It was the perfect spot to stock up on key supplies that you may have forgotten before you headed into BSP like Deet, snacks to eat while on the trail, or in our case an extra layer jacket since it was cold and blustery on the day we visited the park. They also had great sandwiches and pizza to refuel after a long day of hiking, or to pick up a souvenir to remind you of your visit to region. Since their expansion they have so many more items to shop for. It is hard to pass up on the local crafted items like hand made pottery coffee mugs (we got one) or a Maine Balsam fir filled pillow to bring the fragrance of Maine home with you (yes we bought that too)

The take out food is a great value for the money as the portions are very generous. There is quite a variety of options and the kitchen staff was helpful and accommodated us when we had some dietary...

Visitied at the end of September '23. Girlfriend bought a couple things after our visit to BSP. We stayed in the lodge nextdoor. A couple days later I regretted not buying a hat I liked, so I ordered it online. 11 months later and I still have not received it despite many phone calls and promises of making it right this summer once they had opened back up for the season.

Edited: Shortly after posting this review, I received a surprise package in the mail containing my product. I'll assume that it's been a busy season and my initially fumbled order took a back seat and continued to be forgotten. All of my interactions with the business were perfectly pleasant but I'm bummed that I had this experience and hope others don't. Based on my experience I would still probably avoid ordering online but would likely stick my head in the shop again in person if I found myself...

I am Vlogging my vacation and stopped into this store to buy some katahdin merch. Was taking little videos of all that the store had to offer when an older woman who worked there came up to me and asked if I was filming. I said I was and she told me to stop. I was completely befuddled. I explained it was for my homevideos that I put I YouTube … she said she didn’t care, that people are always coming into the store to steal their ideas. …ummm???? … we just came from shopping at the Katahdin General Store that had 3X the merch… ??? I was completely turned off by this woman aggressively approaching me and I quite sadly left the store. This place isn’t worth your time or energy. 0/5 I would happily add photos and videos to this google review but they don’t want anyone to film in the store … lest their merch ideas be stolen....
