I feel as though the employees are nice, we didn't have an issue with the employees in particular. However we had a bad experience in general on the river & I feel as though this could of been avoided had there been safety orientation for the river & tubing. I also feel as though we should of been given paddles to control where the tube goes. We were originally supposed to go Saturday 7/5 at 10a but we were contacted to cancel because of unsafe water conditions. They said we could come at 130p instead, the river should be better at that point. We opted for Sunday 7/6 at 10a because we had plans. The river current was still a bit fast & strong for my taste Sunday after starting our adventure. You cant really tell just by looking at the water how the current is til you are actually on the river. My husband kept having to get out of tube to steer us more towards the left, per the employee that dropped us off, you want to stay towards left because that is where you will need to exit the river. But I think that it should of also been stressed to also stay towards left before of the debris that piles up at the bridges & with fast current, you need to be even more alert or your tube will flip & you're screwed. You cant paddle with hands & feet in current like that. The lifevest doesn't do much good when the current is pushing you underwater. We both know how to swim...... in a POOL. But current is a different story!!!!!
Our Sunday adventure could of been my husband planning my funeral or vice versa, as it ended with me trapped on a log & a kayaker calling 911. My advice is, read up yourself on river safety before going, what to avoid, how to handle situations, as Rivertribe provides a waiver saying you won't sue them. At the end of the trip, we were asked by I am assuming the owner, if we would come back at the end of the season.... .that is a HARD NO. However, you could of refunded our trip or offered to take us down the river with a guide at no charge to get more experience.
I am a bit disappointed that Rivertribe did not call or email to check up on us this past wk. I think from a business standpoint & because this could of turned out alot worse, the least you could have done was called or emailed to check on us.
Please do your research before...
Read moreWe went tubing last year and it was not at all what we expected. In the video on their website they show people stopping along the river and having lunch, and swinging on a rope swing into the water. When I called to make a reservation for our group of about 15, I even asked about that and was told that lots of people bring coolers and stop along the way to eat and take a break. Well there was definitely nowhere to stop along the way so we rented cooler rafts and brought lunch for nothing. About 2 minutes after getting on the river one of our rafts floated into a low hanging tree and had about 12 giant spiders fall into the raft, with 3 children who of course were freaking out. Not 5 mins later, one of the couples double-tube just popped out of no where, and luckily someone had a cellphone with them and called the place where we got the tubes to ask what we should do. They were basically told they were on their own, figure it out yourselves, so they could either try to swim the next 3 miles on the river, or get into someone else's tube with them. When we got to the end we were told there was a big boat ramp that you can't miss, well luckily we saw the group ahead of us get out to the left and followed, thinking it was a half way point. But that was the end, we would have floated right past if not and been screwed. There's nothing marking it or anything that would let you know that's the end. We will definitely NOT be...
Read moreWe've been coming to River Tribe for about 2 years now and are never disappointed. The staff are beyond friendly and accommodating and they can provide everything you need for a perfect float or kayaking trip. The tubing path is wide and rarely low enough to touch bottom. The river is typically only 3-4 feet deep if that. There are rope swings and little islands to stop on along the way down river. Bring your cooler and water proof speaker for a great time. On the first Saturday of the month the have bands come and play on their outdoor stage with a fire and you're even able to camp. It's a great atmosphere and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for an...
