While sales person was very nice, experience has been a NIGHTMARE. The movers came in and were not prepared or trained on how to get a piece of furniture safely up an L shaped staircase. They tore up my walls and the furniture. To the stores credit, the manager quickly had the furniture that had been destroyed by their movers replaced and called a handyman. Unfortunately, after three weeks and multiple visits, he was still unable to repair the damage. I requested my own contractor and the owner got involved. Horrible woman. Didn't apologize for the mess her store made of my home but yelled at me that she had to interrupt her dinner to call me. I'd been told (by her) she would call that day and when I called at nearly 6pm was told she'd left. I asked that they get her a message that I'd like a call before 9 at her convenience but I needed a call. She was angry that she chose to interrupt her own dinner to call me and that I didn't want to use anyone else she chose. Then, the last part of my order came in and it is not as represented in the store. Instead of honoring the stores reputation and taking it back, she called me someone of poor character that can't be pleased.
So, to recap, I have given them more than three weeks of time, taken off work early multiple times, allowed her to send in her handyman and her contractor to review the handyman work, insisted that I use someone I chose to complete the work which she didn't want to do, and asked for a refund for a mattress that was not the same quality as the one I saw in the store. For this, she calls, screams at me, refuses a refund, and tells me to stay out of her store. She didn't have to worry - I never plan to go in again. I'm in tears and she doesn't care. All she cares about is that she chose to step away for 20 minutes from a weekly dinner. She ridiculed my concerns saying it was "just a wall" and "just a mattress"....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was truly a pleasant experience. Kim Summer helped me. She was great & patient. She didn't try to sell me something I didn't want. I haven't bought furniture in over 20+ years. Buying furniture this was a little more challenging than the last time. I, now, have a daughter with autism. She issues with certain materials touching her skin so EVERYTHING has to be soft. I mean really, really soft. Pam showed me lots of materials. You can even customize your fabric on some of the sofas, loveseat & recliners. They did not have the Caston set by Ashley in ice blue on the floor. Kim sent me to Ashley's furniture. Kim said "touch but don't buy" (at Ashley's). She let my daughter touch all the furniture on the floor & watched my daughter's reaction. My daughter's service is still a puppy. She was barking which is not normal (usually quiter). Kim was not bothered by the dog. My daughter picked the fabric & I got to pick the color. I did purchase the ottoman because my daughter really wanted it. I didn't need it but it wasn't that expensive (& my daughter loved being part of the purchase. Kim said she could beat everyone's prices & delivery fee. She did not lie. If you need furniture of any kind, go look at all the other furniture stores (Ashley, Farmer's) then go to Hampton Furniture. Talk to Kim or any of their associates. If you have special needs child, Kim has a special needs granddaughter. She understands which probably why she was soo soo patient. The sofa I bought is a sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. I am very excited. My daughter, her yorkie service dog, & I can fold it out & watch TV on the weekends (movies, popcorn, & quality time in comfort). The fabric was really soft. Kim is thinking about getting the same sleeper sofa for when her grandchildren...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice people - not good at big picture customer service if there is a problem.
Bought whole-house furniture here 6 years ago. It was for a vacation home we have in Greenville.
Has probably been used 150 nights.
The main bedroom has a king, with XL twin bed box springs. Everything was what Hampton suggested for what we needed.
The box springs were made by Ashley Furniture. We found out this weekend, they no longer carry that brand.
The boxsprings come with a 10 year warranty. They were essentially new - despite being 6 years old - due to 150 nights of use at rarely used home.
They were defective. Made defective. I took pictures of them as I returned them this past weekend (10/2024). Slats were missing on one of the 2 pieces. So there was no support there. When you moved even the slightest bit, the boxsprings made a noise and made it sound like it was going to collapse. Due to it being made improperly.
We came to Greenville from Tampa - to avoid the hurricane - with our 5 year old daughters. They were scared so they slept in the bed with us the first night.
The noise āthe bedā made anytime somebody moved made it nearly impossible to sleep.
I decided to take them to the Anderson store where we bought everything.
Showed and listened to the problem with Graham - warehouse manager. Talked to Lucy and Jeb inside. They called Ashley. She wasnāt in yet.
There was ānothing they could doā ā¦ā¦ā¦ right ā¦ā¦..
So they sold us 2 more boxsprings made by a different company for $420. $420. These things are about $50 to $60 worth of materials. For $420 ā¦ā¦ to āhelp us outā
I left the 2 bad boxsprings with Graham and loaded these (2) $420 boxsprings and put them on the bed and guess what - the noise didnāt exist any...
