We stayed in cabin #1, a basic cabin. We initially were incredibly disappointed because the reservation site says, "stove/oven: Y". There is no oven, and we brought supplies to make pizza. The people at the office were nice enough to check to see if there were any standard cabins that we could upgrade to for our stay, but they were all booked. (They still said we'd have to pay for the upgrade, which was disappointing.)

The stay itself wasn't bad. I was pleasantly surprised that there weren't any bugs in the cabin. We stayed for 5 nights, and never once saw anything inside that was concerning. The bathroom was SMALL. Like, bump your elbows into things small, but you don't expect much when you're camping.

My biggest complaint was how on top of each other every cabin is and the NOISE. We came out to enjoy some nature, and all we had was people and more people. We even had a neighbor that was blasting the radio one night, and then the drunken bunch proceeded to shout obscenities at one another. I finally called the park officer when the older gentleman started to push around whom I can only guess was his wife. It took the officer an hour to roll up on the house, but luckily I don't think the woman was hurt.

Also, camping by the park ranger office is NOISY. Staff woke us up one morning (ten 'til 7!) blasting music over there. When I came out to walk my dog I could hear the staff shouting back and forth at one another. So terribly rude. Plus, the two cabins across the way seemed to have burned down at some point. I just don't understand why they'd rent out cabins in this area if they are going to have people out working on clearing and removing debris from those areas at 8am. The amount of times the staff woke us up first thing in the morning was ridiculous.

Finally, only stay at this park if you are in love with boating and fishing. There are no trails, no wooded areas, and the beaches are covered in goose droppings. I can see the value of these cabins if you're only looking for a place to sleep (provided you'd like to arise at the crack of dawn to get back out on the lake). Very disappointed, and...

I am very disgusted and angry at the condition of the cabin we rented at this location. We decided on a nice family weekend at a cabin because we have two children one under one years old we thought it would be easier to stay at a cabin then our tent. Upon arriving at the park there were no clear instructions in the email on what to do and the office was closed. So we went to the main park office and then we were told to go back and go into the key box we should find the key 7 miles of wasted gas . Once we got the key we went to cabin C44 and opening it up it smelled disgusting like Mildew and mold. We understand the cabin is in the woods and expect a sort of stale smell so we opened all the windows and tried to get rid of the smell within 5 min of getting there my daughter crawled from one end of the cabin to the other and her clothes were filthy we immediately picked her up and cleaned her up. So we had to run to the store and spend $40 getting air fresheners and mops and swiffers. Even after spending over 2 hours cleaning the place it was a hopeless cause this cabin was not fit for habitation and after 3 hours we had enough and decided to rent a hotel in erie. I have stayed at some pretty terrible places around the world but this by far was the worst. This cabin needs to be tore down and I dont expect with the state of it the other older cabins are any better. The cleaning staff need to be trained on how to clean for me to spend over an hour cleaning and the place was still dirty it was unacceptable especially for this place to be run by the state it was ridiculous. So I ended up spending $200 for some place I spent 3 hours at I will be contacting the office on monday to see if I can get any of my money back. Absolutely unacceptable especially for a...

Our Standard cabin was better than expected! Clean, spacious (could sleep up to 8 people/kids), inviting. Fairly modern. Good water pressure. Fire place was nice. Kitchen could have used a few more utensils. Bring your own consumables (foil, paper towels, soap, nicer TP, etc.) Private outside fire pit. Sun porch was fantastic. I did a little work on the picnic table on my laptop and it was great. Hiked to a trail near by that was full of natural splendor! Decent playgrounds. Close to many lake accesses for water fun. This was our 2nd time staying at this state park. First time was with a pop up. Ohio state parks are sooo much better than PA, with a much much higher quality experience all around for less monies. Even their website is to navigate! Definitely recommend for couples and families! Also, the firepits are legit! Super wide and short, with flippy grates for easy cooking! The pits in PA...

Basic cabin - we're past the tenting stage and tried out a cabin. Very comfortable and accessible. Could open the windows and the ceiling fan works well to cool the cabin, also the vents. Everything basic is there if you need it. The bed has springs so if you don't coordinate your turning you will send the other person flying off the bed! 😂 If you have back problems try the futon or bring a mattress topper. I don't know what grit they order for their toilet paper 😆 so I would bring a pack, also Kleenex and if you have mild outdoor allergies DO NOT forget your medicine. Walmart is a 1/2 hour away. You'll also need your own firewood/charcoal if you want to have that. Beautiful park, enjoyed fishing, walking and hanging out at the cabin. Was chased out of our cabin on the last day by the biggest flying insect I've ever seen! I think it was a European Hornet...
