While we have stayed at a few typical RV Parks over the past few years, this is one of the few places we have stayed where it adequately falls into the RV Resort category. We were both impressed with how well thought out AF RV Resort was. To begin, the check-in process was easy. They have a nice little store with all the immediate goods you might need while camping. Someone guides you to your location. You have a security gate with a code that gives you that added feeling that someone is not going to easily stroll in and take your trailer.
The concrete parking pads are spot-on level and very large to boot, offering plenty of room for trailer and vehicle. We noticed that even people that have large motorhomes still have room to park their pull-behind vehicles. If you need more room, no worries, they have a large parking lot on the west side of the property to park a vehicle. The space between each site coupled with the well-thought-out landscaping was such a nice touch. It is very clear this place takes its landscaping seriously. They have irrigated paths with various flowers as well as planted a few aspen trees between each site.
There is one building that contains numerous new washer/dryer for laundry as well as very nice showers, a hot tub, and an outdoor gas fire pit. So nice.
The other primary gathering space is something you would expect at a nice conference center. We gathered behind it a couple of nights and visited with others around more gas fire pits and one evening where they served smores. That brings me to another thought…events. You can tell they do things to help build community but offer a few events throughout the week. If you like to golf, they have a nice little putting green. Got dogs, a fantastic large fence area to let your pet room and run. Let me mention their hookup connections. Again, so well thought out. Everything is right there, close together which a very nice-looking pedestal that conceals what you would normally see. Review the pictures to see what I am referring to.
Lastly, the staff was fantastic. They came by each morning to pick up your trash. Every person from check-in to the groundskeeper had a great servant spirit about them. While the price is more than we usually pay, it was well worth it. We spoke to several people who have been returning to stay there each year and we fully understand why. We will be returning in the...

Who would want to stay in Taos when you can stay here! Seriously. The views are so much more panoramic and near to you and its just so nice. We saw Elk in the field during our stay (early June, which is early for Elk but due to the fires...).
First...the park itself is beautiful and meticulously maintained. For real, these people are dedicated to keeping the place nice and ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Everything from laundry to games to landscaping was clean. And I'm an attention to detail guy so I notice things like high dust, but they didn't have any!
There are so many games on site...pickleball, horseshoes, tether ball, ping pong, large connect 4, and much more. They have lots of great activities throughout the week and weekend for adults and kiddos. We enjoyed snowcones as well as live music. They even bring horses from the stables next door (privately owned) for a free carriage ride for the guests! So yes, you can also conveniently book a horse ride without driving anywhere, just walk across the street.
The sites are HUGE and include a picnic table and full hookups of course. Biggest pad I've ever stayed at in an RV resort. I'd definitely recommend opting for one of the premium view sites, that is what we did, and we did not regret it.
There is a walking trail around the entire park. The laundry facility is fully stocked (2 locations, one in main office and one in rear near hot tub) with commercial grade Maytag stackable w/d units...pretty much the industry leader. Fancy. They operate on card payments.
Hot tub was small. They definitely need more hot tub. Maybe 2-3 of them. I could see that thing being super full in the evenings and adults and kids want to swim, so if there is no pool at least need to invest in more hot tubs. That's my only recommendation though because everything else was...
Read moreThe review I didn’t want to write; I wanted to keep this gem of a secret to myself. We stayed July/23. We’ve been full timing for 9 months and this park is in our top 5. The park is GORGEOUS! There is a walking path that orbits the park and it’s loaded with flowers butterflies and (unfortunately) biting horse flys. The sites are large, well spaced and each one has several Aspen tress and wildflowers. The resort is surrounded by pine tree covered mountains providing a feeling of peace. There is a large well-cared for dog park w/ healthy grass fenced in, large enough to launch balls for our ball obsessed pooch. The office and club house are modern and gorgeous, architecturally fitting the environment. We have washer/dryer so didn’t use/see theirs. We took a day trip to Red River and road a LONG gondola to the top of the mountain (elevation 10,350). The town of Angel Fire is small but they do have a (VERY) busy grocery store. We ate at a couple restaurants; El Jefe (HORRIBLE), Zebs (ok) & twice at Mikuna Grill, a Peruvian restaurant that had the most amazing food! There is a horseback riding stable across the street. VERIZON was strong, so we were able to use our 5G box the entire time. Trash pick up at your site every morning. They had an events calendar that had action every night such as snow comes, horse pulled wagon ride through the resort, s’mores by the fire, live music etc… the exercise room was small and limited, twice we tried to go and it was full. I tried to extend our stay or return in August but they were booked so plan ahead, or don’t so I can come back again on short...
