My new husband and I got married at Chatom/School Street Winery on Saturday, 5/1/21. The entire experience, from our first venue tour, to planning the wedding, to the actual day, was made enjoyable and easy thanks to Matt, Valerie, and Sewell. The winery has absolutely beautiful grounds which were the perfect backdrop for our pictures, ceremony, and reception. Matt and Val were the contacts for the wedding planning process and they were always more than helpful, efficient, and quick to assist me in any way they could. Sewell and his team catered a delicious dinner for us that included passed appetizers, a first course salad, surf and turf, and homemade bread. Not to mention their incredible wine that was served throughout the night. Overall we could not have been happier with our choice to get married at Chatom/School Street winery and would recommend this venue and winery to anyone looking for a beautiful venue and a relaxed, enjoyable wedding...
Read moreWorth a visit when in Murphys or driving buy. Nice grounds. Good for picnic. No tasting fees. They have a large selection of wine with many of them open for tasting. So be prepared to spend some time. The staff is very friendly and competent. So you need even more time to engage a bit and ask questions. The wines are decent. Many standards (Merlot, CS, etc.) that are just made the way you would expect them. Which also means you won't remember them. And they are priced that way, so no particular value. There Esmeralda Syrah is quite memorable however, but then at $38 priced accordingly. They also have a few unexpected ones that sound interesting but then disappoint a bit in execution (Sangiovese, Semillon, Touriga). The cuvee (an odd blend of Rhone, Bordeaux, Zin and Touriga) is a positive surprise. Full bodied and well balanced with some interesting notes. At $12...
Read moreMy boyfriend lives in Copperopolis and I was excited to take him and some friends to your venue. I had a fab experience a couple of months ago at a girls weekend there. It was Friday and two bachelorette parties, couple of other couples tasting . There was only ONE person pouring. He stated that the owners were out of town, and he was overwhelmed. He actually stated out loud that he was overwhelmed :( It was clearly the case as he was sweating and trying to do more that 3 people should have been doing . After we waited over 20minutes for our third pour, we kindly left a tip and said we had to go...we would have been there another hour or more to get our pours in. Next time, I will definitely read the room first and make sure there is appropriate team members there to help...
