While this venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff is nice, I would not recommend this place. This may be long but I highly recommend you read! -We booked this place in August for our December wedding mostly for the Chapel, this is the only place nearby with a chapel. They kept promising and promising that it would be complete well before our wedding, when in fact it was not. When we showed up for our rehearsal on Thursday there was scaffolding in the middle of the chapel and we had to rehearse around the scaffolding, so I couldn't visualize what my day was going to look like and how my bridal party was going to stand. We weren't warned or informed that this was happening either, we just found out when we showed up. As well as that, we all felt very rushed and only did one run through, because they had another rehearsal after ours. Then they promised to have everything removed and cleaned up by 9 am Friday morning the day of my wedding so we could get in to decorate, when they didn't actually show up to clean up until 10:30 and didn't have it empty until almost 2:30. -About a week before my wedding my mom and I were randomly informed that we had to have all of our belongings removed from both the bridal suite and groom's suite before our ceremony started. I didn't have my contract on hand so thought maybe we had missed it. I proceeded to check our contract and nowhere in it does it say this. The day of my wedding we were informed again and I was not comfortable with this, we booked this place for the day, not for a few hours to get ready. I was not okay with stressing my bridal party out and having them clean up in their dresses & heels/suits. My mom told her we weren't stressing out to get our stuff out when it wasn't in our contract and she received an argument and a very rude response. -After my wedding I was told by several family members and several guests that they had seen staff members eating our cupcakes off of our cake table, I would not have minded this if they had been offered but they seemed to have taken them by themselves. As well as owners just hanging out in work clothes and completely ruining several of my photos by being in the background. -This may have been something we should have checked on but still find it weird. We booked our bartenders, DJ, and photographer through the venue with their package. During our reception I notice our photographers sitting at one of our guests' tables eating our catered dinner. I know they have to eat but was never informed they'd be eating our food and sitting at our tables. As well as after the wedding we realized no one came home with any leftover food so we checked with the caterers and they said that there wasn't any food leftover and that the Dj, bartenders, owners and security all had a plate. We were never asked or informed that all these people would be eating.. We paid our deposit with the knowledge of it being an exact amount we would receive back without any damage. A month after I received a check in the mail for about $100 less than our paid deposit, I reached out as to why it was less and was informed it was tax that was missing. When I checked with my mom she reached out to check as well. She was told it was because we paid with a credit card and they charge a card fee, which still doesn't equal $100, but that they realized it wasn't in our contract so they were sending the difference owed via check in the mail. After 2 more months of waiting for a check we checked in again and they said it was sent but that they'd cancel it and write a new one to be picked up, I sent my husband and the gate was locked and no one was there. We got it figured out and was sent a balance via venmo. At this point I am only missing $33 but checked anyway as to why. I'm informed that this is because we paid an amount + tax and the $33 is tax that we don't get back, which wasn't stated in our contract, our contract just had the amount in total including the $33. I know it is just $33, but being told 3 different things as to why money is missing...

What can I say, this venue and the owner, Darlene, are amazing! We were one of the unlucky covid couples who had been booked for our wedding originally in May 2020 and rescheduled for May 15th 2021. Darlene, the venue owner is amazing and so kind, she goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy and everything is to your liking on your big day! They let us reschedule no problem, no extra fees, etc. They will let you know the rules of the venue, specifically no guests in the kitchen, etc. We understand that is for safety/liability and health code issues which we were more than willing to comply with. They also lock up the bridal and grooms suite during the ceremony - for security of the items inside and to keep guests from wandering into areas they shouldn’t be. If we needed anything out of those areas during the wedding all we had to do was ask and they would happily unlock it for us. We have been working with Darlene since 2019, when they first opened, and we have always had easy and open communication with her - just as quick as sending a text message and receiving a response minutes later. The venue in itself is absolutely stunning. They really went above and beyond building this venue, with no small details spared. The grooms suite is huge, with their own personal bar, pool table, fooseball, etc. Having been a part of other weddings at other popular venues the grooms suite was essentially the size of a storage closet- so this was absolutely amazing and gave the men a chance to spread out and relax. The bridal suite is perfect; and also massive! We loved the massage chairs- great way to relax before the big walk down the aisle! We were so thankful that Darlene allowed us to set up our decorations the Friday night before the wedding (as there was no scheduled events that day) we know they didn’t have to let us do that and they provided that as a convenience to us - which we were so grateful. We booked up all of the guest rooms for the night of our wedding which was really great to not have to worry about transportation after a night of drinking and celebrating. The rooms were clean, large, very nicely decorated. They were always willing to let us come tour the venue whenever we liked, as we had family in town at different times and they both wanted to see the venue. This is an absolutely stunning, rustic, romantic venue that you absolutely must check out! We received so many compliments about our venue at the wedding and after the wedding regarding how beautiful it was and how nice Darlene and her husband were. The venue was clean, beautiful, spacious, and most importantly has kind and considerate management. Thank you so much Darlene for making our big day amazing, if we had to do it all over again we would 100% choose to have our wedding at the Oaks at Oak plantation all over...

My daughter just got married at this beautiful venue nestled amongst huge oaks. We were so blessed with great weather to have an outdoor wedding that showcased the spectacular grounds. If it had been inclement weather, the place is so spacious that a rainy day plan would have worked inside. The staff was helpful, courteous, and accommodating. The bridal suite is unbeliveable! It has numerous makeup chairs, massage chairs, a shower, bathroom, dressing rooms, couches, comfortable lounging chairs, dining table, sitting area, a children's area, and tv. The groom's area is just as spectacular with lots of room with a pool table and all many other games. Another plus for this venue is having hotel rooms right down the hallway from the grand ballroom. This was so helpful because we used one of the guest rooms for a quiet place to nurse a young baby and as a private restroom for an handicapped elderly. In addition, it was nice to have these hotel/guest rooms available for people who did not want to drive back to another hotel in the dark or gather up young children late at night. I have attended numerous weddings over my 62 years and this is by far the best venue I have ever seen. The only thing I would suggest is to have bigger signs and lighting on the main road so the turn in road to the venue can be seen easily. If guest use Google Maps, that app will take one right to it but other mapping apps are not as accurate. Thanks to the owners for your vision and hard work in making this wedding...

We had our wedding reception at The Oaks and Oak Plantation last week. The venue is already beautiful on its own but decorating it more made it more gorgeous. It was perfect for our rustic-elegance theme wedding. Both the cocktail and ballroom area were really beautiful and the amenities they have were really nice. Our guests loved our venue as much as we do and were complimenting how beautiful it was. Every detail of this venue was well thought of. Communications with them (from the owner Darlene McConathy to Angelica (previous venue manager) and Dallas, venue manager) were also easy from the time we first visited the venue till after our wedding. They were very responsive to any questions, concerns and requests we had. They treated us kindly and we felt they truly care for us and we’re “not just another customer“. They care for us to have a memorable and perfect wedding that we want. Darlene is so easy to talk to and she granted a lot of our requests for our wedding. The owners Darlene and Doyle were so sweet and we have nothing but respect for them. They were there before, the day and after the wedding, personally assisting us and our vendors making sure we have everything we needed and everything is going well. We saw how they personally take care of their venue. It shows how they love their place. We are lucky to find this venue. We took a chance when we first saw it and believe that it will be beautiful as what we’re told it would be and it is. One of the best decision we made on our wedding.

I have tried many ways to get my full review posted to Google. My review is very long and detailed but it is necessary so the reader can get the full aspect of how our event day unfolded. I also tried to load the review via photos but they were show up as needed either. Google also does not allow links in reviews. There are so many aspects of our day that went wrong. From the owner yelling at my planner in front of my husband and guests, the owner yelling at my husband, making up policies on the day of, the owner giving the resolution of writing us a check and having us all leave about an hour or so before the wedding was about to start, to having family members riding a UTV along the side of the venue as we were taking photos during cocktail hour and as my guests were outside enjoying the string quartet. This only touches the surface. If you are looking for the full review I would advise you to look up The Oaks at Oak Plantation on The Knot. On there you can find a portion of the review with a link to see the full detailed review. If you have a Facebook, you can also search The Oaks of Oak Plantation there. In the search results, you can scroll down some and find my review listed as well. It was directly on their Facebook page however, they took their page down and brought it back up without any reviews. This venue is beautiful, not doubt. They paid a lot of attention to detail. However, the beauty of it all was unfortunately overshadowed by the unprofessional behavior of the owner.

Went to my second cousin's wedding here, November 9, 2019. The venue is poorly marked at the street; it's very easy to miss the gate and end up at the prison on the next street (multiple guests did this, including my parents; a large number were late and came in during the ceremony due to missing the turn). The indoor area is very loud and echoes terribly, which makes it nigh-impossible to understand announcements. The venue was terribly under-staffed; five waiters canNOT serve all the wedding guests in a timely manner, especially when two of them are manning the bar and there's really only three passing out plates (the wait staff is nice, but there's just not enough of them). Food is acceptable, but not great. Absolutely everything took longer than it should've, though I can't say how much was due to the venue's fault and how much was due to other vendors.
