What a wonderful venue and idea! For my birthday my wife and friends took me to see one of my favorite tribute bands here. (Texas Flood). I cannot believe this place is so close to our home as well.
Pulling up onto a farm road that eventually turns to a gravel path, we enter through the main gate and are greeted by a very friendly security guard working the event. He lets us know that the rain has stopped, the show will be inside but the seating outside is always open. He asks if it is our first time here and it is, so he gives us some info on the place as the line is not yet long (we are early). He guides us to the parking area. We then see the "barn" is a purpose built structure to host events such as wedding and gatherings, as well as bands as it was tonight. The set up is fantastic with great views of the band, as well as wine bars set up outside and inside serving some local, as well as other niche wines that that family partners with and enjoys. Our ticket came with a flight tasting, and some nice wine glasses as well. Tables are cable reels that are perfect, as well as regular tables that are made to go with the rural motif. the sides of the "barn" open so all can see in and enjoy the band while enjoying the night air.
Since we had a thunderstorm roll through just before the event, the band was inside, and the also have bands perform outside as well. The siting area is a large grass area with a large fire pit which they light up later in the evening. Friendly horses and donkeys to hang out with pre-show too. The recent storm was sure to promise great sunsets which did not disappoint as well. My wife took the photos attached...
The band was of course fantastic and I was glad to hear they would be back at the Barn Hill Vineyards.
Dean and Joy did an awesome job setting this place up and should be proud of providing a new favorite place for us to come, enjoy some local talent, and of course this great place to hang out. They limit attendance so you can enjoy the place and not feel crowded at all. Dean and Joy also are great hosts ensuring everyone was having a good time, walking around greeting and meeting people as well as working with their staff on the wine bars, fire pit areas and just being good people.
The owners also happened to be the parents of a co-worker of my wife's which we did not find out until the evening was underway, small world!
Dean and Joy thank you for a great birthday evening for me and our friends who joined us. Bob and Melissa...
Read moreJust north of Anna lies a hidden gem that doesn’t need a spotlight to capture local hearts—Barnyard Vineyards. This country winery has a delightful charm, perfect for anyone who enjoys live music, a relaxed, mature atmosphere, and the beauty of a country sunset. It’s romantic, too—you can’t help but hope to witness a proposal as couples stroll in carrying their coolers.
If you’re simply looking to unwind with friends, the firepit feels like an extension of your own backyard, offering the perfect spot to catch up. Parking is well organized, thanks to the friendly officers who guide both arrival and exit. Smaller manual cars might have a tougher time in wetter seasons, but this visit was smooth and easy.
The Luke Combs tribute band was on point—great energy, perfect volume. A small dance floor invites you to sway and spin; it’s never crowded, and the vibe feels more like dancing in your living room than at a public venue—absolutely charming.
Food options are simple but thoughtful. At least one food truck is typically on-site, and complimentary Gatorade and water are provided. Staff members greet you with smiles, and the wine is well worth a try. Their white, crisp yet not overpowering, would pair beautifully with sushi and Desert Sun which seemed more blush than red would be perfect with desserts—yes, sushi at a country winery works (bring your own!).
This isn’t an all-nighter venue. For those who treasure their sleep, closing time at 10 p.m. is just right. Before leaving, don’t forget to snap a photo of their year-long lineup—you’ll want to come back. Hope to see you...
Read moreThis place has a nice setup to sit back and relax, think I noticed three firepits with lots of chairs. Live music playing inside the barn and a BBQ wagon to have a bite to eat. Unfortunately for our first time being there the security guard Paul Cobb ruined the experience. My wife was taking photos of the 3 of us like she normally does and while this occurred someone moved her chair. Just living in the moment and naturally she went to sit back down and asked if I had moved it, I didn't so she just grabbed it and put it back in place. Here comes the man of the hour "security guard" and starts talking to her like she knows what is going on with his plan of action about moving the chair and needing to light the other firepits. This irritates him that the chair was moved back and he starts coping an attitude. He did not use common courtesy and let anyone know that this was the path to be taken to move already lit firewood to the next pit. He lit the pit we where at with some accelerant earlier, not sure what his bright idea was to move already lit firewood from one pit to the next and smoke everyone out along the way. He also did not use a log grabber but two other pieces of wood to move a lit log. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. So he threw a fit because of a chair in the way but failed to inform anyone. For this reason our first experience was ruined, 25 dollars for the ticket x3 and 28 for the bottle of wine - there are other local vineyards I would look into that dont need a pompous security guard to put...
