One of my favorite peaks ever. Not terribly long, and not crowded at all, this mountain is the centerpiece of an awesome yet underrated State Park. The early trail is cool, with intriguing geology and good views. Higher everything becomes very green and beautiful, and past the tower there is an awesome ridge with some scrambling opportunities for those who so desire. The trail dodges the ridge, but I highly recommend ignoring the trail in favor of the ridge. The views from the summit are unbelievable, some of the very best anywhere. Going to the left is going to take you on a near-death route that you cannot continue. However this was amazing and a very achievable hike. You walk through some boulders about 1.5 miles up the trail and then have 1/4 mile more to a view from the crest of the main mountain range.
