When you call a specific location, it sends you to a calling center, they don't schedule "appointments", but schedule "check-in times." Thd verbal instructions were to go to the door of the clinic to scan the QR code to check in, because lobbies are closed due to COVID 19. This lobby is not closed and there is a QR code near a vacant desk to "check in" at. After completion of that phone call, you get a text message to confirm your scheduled "check in time" and then you get a few more text messages with two different links to send you to an app you have to download to fill out paperwork. A different link will show your checked in on a different app after you receive a text message confirming you are checked in. On that different app you can view how many people checked in as walk ins, or appointments, and how many people ahead of you. If you have covid the verbal instructions from the call center says they will call you when it's your turn. Having a bad experience with technology I wanted a human to confirm I was there in my car and to call me. A got a text message to come into the clinic because they are ready for me. I got told to wait in the lobby by the "recepionist." Being symptomatically covid positive I don't feel that that obeyed the CDCs guidelines, so I waited at the doorway. I held the door for a patient leaving then got told by the receptionist I was letting cold air out and to shut the door. I waited for another 12 minutes outside the doors of the lobby until the MA came and got me. She confirmed my pharmacy being walgreens, but since the one I use next to my house closed soon, she informed me of a cvs that was 24 hours. After my appointment. I didn't receive any invoice/bill just told to swipe my card for $120. I asked for proof of what I owe via insurance or invoice she stated I would get a receipt. I don't want to give $120 and not know that I owe that. I asked for an insurance breakdown to show i owe that. She printed out the insurance verification and it showed the copay was $0 i asked about that and dhe stated it was because my deductible wasnt met, but couldnt show me how it came to $120. She justified it as being cheaper than the bill for $195. I asked about scripts and she said it would be electronically sent to the pharmacy on my file...which one that was i didnt know at that time. I didn't receive discharged paperwork with proof that scripts were even ordered.
I called the CVS 20 minutes after being done at urgent care and they confirmed no receipt of scripts. I call the clinics number again and get transferred to the call center whom stated the scripts were actually ordered, but would message the clinic to call me when the scripts were sent. A couple minutes later I get an automated call from Walgreens stating my scripts are delayed due to an insurance issue...which they never had my insurance, they still had in their system the covid testing center as payer. I called walgreens and was on hold for 10 minutes then I walked back into the clinic where I remained parked to have them send the prescriptions over to cvs whom we discussed. I ended up having to standat the desk so the PA could get my scripts sent to the correct pharmacy.
Overall, the MA and the PA were nice and listened, and receptionist tolerated my frustration with all of different forms of communication and nothing going as instructed it would. I onky have the complaints listed just the communications and people doing as they say. Or even calling when supposed to rather than assuming technology is...
Read moreHORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER, AND OVERLOOKED AN OBVIOUS FRACTURE ON AN X-RAY!!!! We went to this facility because they had x-ray capabilities. My daughter had a heavy box fall on her hand and wrist and we suspected something was broken or fractured. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, but that was where the niceties ended. When we were called back, the nurse quickly gathered info from us and exited the room. I overheard her explaining her version of what happened to the doctor and heard the doctor say she would come in and see if she could “get the wrist moving”. She walked in and immediately, without preparing my daughter, began squeezing and pressing roughly on my daughter’s hand and wrists, aggressively demanding a pain level of “small, medium, or larger” every time she pressed and squeezed. My daughter began crying and writhing in pain as she became more and more aggressive causing me to wonder if she was truly assessing her or just causing more injuries. She only stayed in the room for 2 minutes, at most. I overheard her telling the nurse that they needed an x-ray because it was tender and might be broken. After running and reviewing the x-ray, she came back and told us that everything was fine and they would just splint it. She took us back and showed us the x-ray of part of my daughter’s hand and wrist to convince us that everything was fine. But she failed to show us the shot of my daughter’s fingers. I went back to the room and clearly saw that her fingers were twisted and swollen. I came out and asked if we could see the fingers on the x-ray. The doc told us yes, but then quickly changed her mind and said she’d just give us the cd. She said we had already seen the fingers. I knew we had not seen the fingers and I told her I didn’t want to leave without seeing them because the looked bad and that’s where most of the pain was located. The doctor got up and walked away. So I continued making my request to the nurse who responded to me rudely and told me she was trying to close up for the night. I showed myself back to the x-ray room where the doctor was getting a quick peek at the fingers shot and as I walked in, my unprofessional eye clearly saw an undeniably huge fracture on one of her fingers. The doctor admitted that there was a fracture and decided to splint the finger also. I honestly don’t know if the doctor had seen the fracture originally and just didn’t tell us so as to rush us out the office since it was near closing, or if she was just incompetent. Then the nurse did and amazingly horrible job at wrapping her finger and wrist after she and the doctor went back and forth about how they didn’t know how to splint the finger and wrist. At that point, I just wanted our xrays and paperwork so that we could see another doctor the following day. We were treated horribly and I will...
Read moreMy son went in to get xrays for a possible broken wrist and fingers. He had a temporary cast with wrap on that was meant to stabilize his wrist AND his last 2 fingers.
During the xrays, I wasn't allowed in but my son (13 years old) said she (female, 5-4, blonde hair in pony) was rude and short /didnt explain directions clearly and would give short 1-2 word directions. She wouldn't clearly explain what he needed to do or would make him do things he couldn't (ie bend pinky back when he can't move it) and got angry when he couldn't comply.
After the xray I noticed she didn't re-wrap the temporary cast right. He had a hard part that stabilized his wrist but then the wrap was supposed to wrap around the last 2 fingers so they can't move. She didn't do this so I let the front desk know. Front desk staff was sweet and very helpful which is why I gave 2 and not 1 star.
The tech came back up and I explained this to her and she said, "it doesn't need to be wrapped the wrist is stabilized." I explained about the fingers and she said, "I don't understand how this would be different" and seemed very annoyed. I apologized and said I would've done it if I was medical and she responded, "You don't need to be medical but ok." I was mortified as we were in the front lobby in front of all the waiting patients and everyone could see what was going on and hear it.
I typically go to East Mesa NextCare and they are amazing all around but don't have xray which is why we ended up here. Needless to say I will be going to the Gilbert location if we have any future xray needs. Lesson learned.
1st picture is of proper wrap via NextCare East Mesa. 2nd is of her wrapping after asking to rewrap. His thumb is also not right and cast is digging into him. Should have had doctor...
