Overall, an underwhelming experience. Lots of parked cars, but didn't seem to be very many people there at 230P on a beautiful Sunday.
Facility is mostly staffed by a disinterested bunch of "20somethings" that seemed generally disinterested, although our guide Jeremy was very friendly and informative.
Disgusting Porta Pottys were overflowing. (Not sure how often they're emptied, but would sure hate to be a woman needing to use one).
The amount of wildlife you can expect to see is grossly overrated. Scenery is "meh" at best.
According to the website, you're "supposed" to receive a park decal for those who like to collect them, but I was halfway home when I realized I hadn't ever been offered one.

I recommend packing a wet suit or waterproof bug spray because I found red spots on my uncovered legs that later became annoyingly itchy and whelped up after a day or two. The drive is 45 minutes from Disney Springs area, a ride through the country wasn't so bad, very relaxing and limited traffic. I arrived around 11am and there was still a lot of parking. Be mindful to not bring a hammock or tent, the ranger will politely ask you to remove it. Trees will be your shade because some of the larger shaded picnic areas were reserved. Read moreThe 8 miles kayak is very enjoyable. We have seen a bunch of gators chilling on some part of the run. Lots of wild life. Tons of fish, turtles and birds. It was busy around middle of the day. There are people camping on some areas. Overall it was a great experience. A good swim on the wekiva spring after a long hours of kayaking was a plus.
