(Big) Santa Anita Canyon is a gem of a canyon in Angeles National Forest. It's made even more special by the 100 year old cabins that dot the landscape. 3 years ago the Bobcat fire devastated a large area of the canyon, destroying the plant life that helped hold the soil in place. In the ensuing rainstorms, more damage was done by mud slides, debris flows, falling trees and floods. Who knows what the canyon will look like when the trails are rebuilt.
