Nice facility. Very friendly staff.
I feel like I was ripped off. There's a fee when you join, and then an annual fee. I joined at the end of November. Mid-December I received a mailer that they were increasing the price. I'm sure they knew the price was going up when I joined and I should have been told then. I already thought the price was high, but went with it because they offer child watch. Once they went up I couldn't afford to continue my membership, and therefore paid that membership fee for a month. The child watch is only available during peek hours, so the gym is crowded. I never had to wait for equipment, or saw anybody else waiting...a full gym just gets uncomfortable for me. Also, they don't take children to the potty or change diapers. My littles are 1 and 2, I never once made it through my workout without being interrupted because my kids needed something (Not much different from using the elliptical at home). My 2 y/o is potty trained, but is shy about asking to go and won't use a public toilet by herself. I was really interested in Zumba, but at the time there wasn't a class during child watch.
So, if you don't mind the high price and either don't have kids, or have kids who use public bathrooms alone this is a great gym. It's just not...
Read moreThis is the worst facility. I paid $90 for the Grubb YMCA soccer team. The first three practices were rained out. Then the teams were combined and switched. We were advised in an email to “follow schedule”. We show up for a game on Saturday for our game and no one was able to tell me where my child was suppose to go but she wasn't on their team even though we were there for her team and time. I emailed the “sport director” he told her team was switched again and to meet on Tuesday for practice since she missed her game. That an email was sent with new schedule which half of us didnt receive. I show up yet again to be there on the wrong day. I was also told her jersey was “lost” they could order another with two games left. I emailed/left a message asking for a refund as we literally got to go to one practice, never received our jersey, or in contact with coaches. I never received a phone call, email or even an apology back. VERY disorganized and...
Read moreHats off to this YMCA facility for there Youth Basketball Program! Jim, Chelsea and the staff do an excellent job organizing and providing an opportunity for Boys & Girls to Learn & Play the game of Basketball.
Unfortunately there are a couple of parents (Jason Boles) who don’t seem to understand that this is a Game, it is about Fun, about Learning & Teaching the Basics, and it is about Safety and Sportsmanship. It is not about “win at all cost” or about “disrespecting the game & officials”
That kind of immature behavior is unacceptable and it has No Place in any Youth Sports. It sets a very poor example to Kids, Players and Parents attending the games. *It is too bad that you feel the need to bad mouth this outstanding YMCA program for boys & girls. But I am very happy to hear that you will be taking your self serving, immature attitude elsewhere, and you will not be returning to our program.
Respectfully yours, James/A...
