Couler Valley RV — Local services in Asbury

Myself my family and friends have dealt with Couler Valley RV for over 15 years we always went to them for everything RV related . And they were always my first stop when it came to being treated fairly, until today. I called and spoke to them in regards to a fifth wheel I was interested in looking at. So far so good! I made the 80 mile round trip from IL. On the 19th of this month Sep. 2016 I Looked at the RV, and I liked it although over priced by about two thousand dollars according to the blue book value, even after they took a thousand dollars off on their "sale". The RV had previous damage that had been patch worked with fiberglass in the front so I wouldn't think that it would command full book value, but according to them it does regardless of the damage that had been badly repaired and in plain site. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked when I could bring my highly Customized 2004 Harley Davidson cargo trailer in for an appraisal for a potential trade in. The owners mother told me that I could come in on the 20th (today) and they would appraise my trailer. (And please keep in mind that this is not an easy task for me I am a disabled Veteran with permanent nerve damage and four herniated disks.) So I load up my trailer and head back for another 80 mile round trip for a total of 160 miles now. I get there and I'm told that Doug is not there today and won't be back because he is gone to an RV show. And I am thinking ok what does this have to do with the appraisal? Turns out that Doug is the only one there that can do the appraisals? Ok so now I'm thinking to myself, so I just drove down here for nothing ? His mom tells me I can take pictures of the unit and send them to him to see what he will give for a trade in value. And I agreed that would be better than wasting a trip. So she sent the photos at 2pm and as 5pm starts to roll around I'm starting to getting a little bit upset that it's taking three hours to get an appraisal . Then she tells me that Doug has not gotten back with her on it that she thinks there is a communications problem with her cell, so I asked if I could try sending pictures to him? And she agreed to give me his cell number and send the photos. So I went out and took the photos of my trailer and sent them to him and they went just fine. And after another 15 min or so I received this response from Doug. " Thanks Jerry, it looks really cool but I'm not sure what I can get out of it! I really want to get a deal done but it's not quite a camper and not quite a cargo trailer! I tried to value it accordingly at three thousand dollars." And I replied " you can't even buy a used double axle fully enclosed trailer that size for three thousand, let alone one with customized Harley Davidson graphics inside and out Harley Davidson Curtains with screened in Windows a roof top vent and fan, and thermostat controlled RV Roof AC/Heater and a refrigerator radio and microwave oven and country tops at that price " But he insisted that three thousand was more than a good price on my trailer ? the only difference between my trailer and a new toy hauler is that my trailer does not have a bed, shower or bathroom. I wish I could post a picture of my trailer on here to show you the quality of the work done. Everything that has ever been done to that trailer was done by a profesional. And there are zero leaks zero problems new tires mag rims and lots of halrey graphics on the sides front and rear of the unit. When I brought it in to show him and showed his mom she said "Wow that is a really nice trailer I have never seen one done up like that! I don't see any problem with him meeting you or at least getting close to the five thousand your asking! So I figured with them being on the high end on the fifth wheel and me being on my high end for trade not for sale I would sell it for six thousand five hundred all day long. But when he came back at three thousand I was dumbfounded ? Like I said you can't even touch a used 10 foot single axle enclosed trailer for that even the cheap brands...

I called ahead at 100 pm to see if I would be able to see a boat at 500 pm. The lady on the phone said no problem we are open until 600 pm. I arrived at 500 pm to be told that it is in the front line facing the road. The receptionist told me that they don’t have an inside show room. So we have 15 minutes of light left. I told her I would like to see it. She said she would have to find a salesman. She dialed a number and the person cell phone rang literally right next to where we were sitting. The person turned off the phone and set it down. I told receptionist to have the salesperson meet us down at the boat. After driving the entire lot and not finding it we went back to the office. We were told that the salesperson just left for the day. I let her know that we just drove from Cedar Rapids. I asked where the boat was as it wasn’t in the front row. She told me she didn’t really know. I would give this company a zero and tell people if your looking don’t bother going there or if you do go early as the salespeople don’t like...

Purchased a $90,000.00+ camper at the beginning of camping season, one slide didn't work (was fixed the next day), couldn't get our satellite to hook up they told us to call direct TV which we had already done so they tried to get us to fix it ourselves over the phone yes that's a good way to lose your warranty. Two weeks later they finally fixed it. Sink leaked 1 week for them to fix it, water heater worked the first weekend we camped (Memorial weekend) it's now the middle of July and we still have no hot water. Had 1 shower since purchased it and have been heating water to wash dishes and have to use the public shower or we drive home to shower. We feel we have had to beg to get anything serviced(except for the slide out) and this is a brand new camper that we parked to enjoy our retirement.
