Warren Wilson College — Local services in Asheville

Left after a semester. They focus so much on physical diversity that they forget the importance of diversity of thought. If you are not an extreme liberal you will go through hell at this school. I am independent leaning conservative and very respectful about my beliefs (only really talk about them when asked) and for that I was called every name in the book from homophobic (funny becuase I’m gay) to sexist to racist even though i am none of these things. It doesn’t stop at the names. I’ve faced threats, students going to faculty and telling them that I should be expelled (of course with no luck because the faculty know how crazy the Stidents are but still doesn’t do anything about it) and a lot of yelling. Once my political views were out there it was like the whole school knew that I wasn’t and extremist hippie communist And saw that as the worst crime in the world. One of the most important parts of college is growth in character and this school will not do that. It’s a “safe space” bubble for people who can’t handle opposing opinions and basically just a factory for whiny social justice college students who think they are quirky and unique. A fantastic college for the young person who embraces hands on real world work, the outdoors, being immersed in nature, diversity, inclusivity, and academic challenge while being on a first name with your instructors. Excellent learning and maturing on multiple levels but this school is not for the student who ONLY wants academic rigor. I toured this place back in 2016 with Camp Talisman. I will give you guys credit, the campus is very nice-looking and the tour guide was friendly. Other than that, I wish Camp Talisman never took me on the tour because I see no point in me ever going to a private college.
