Before rent, read this!! Zero star!!
I lived in New Jersey until mid-July of this year when I decided to move to Ashland. I looked for a condo that met my expectations and found this one I applied for. At first I paid the $500 deposit for the application and waited for contact. Days later they requested documentation (SSN) and taxes. I explained that I didn't have it yet and that I would send my passport, my bank statements and my fiancé's passport, itin number and pay stubs. A few days later they released the condo app for me to use, where I then saw my $500 deposit on the system and all other information pertinent to the apartment (including the building number and apartment I would possibly live in). A few days later I noticed that on the main screen of the site, when I logged in, it said APPROVED and my MOVE-IN for August 15. I was happy that I could prepare my move, sell some furnitures and leave for a new life. On the 29th of July I received an email from the apartment insurance, which I promptly paid, as I couldn't pass up this opportunity. Days later I left for Ashland and since then my nightmare began! I've been to the condo office 4 times. The first time (August 08) the gentleman who attended to me said that the apartment still had residents and that they would leave on the 11th, and then I would receive the contract and the key. I returned the following Saturday (August 13) but the office was closed so I called the available number (never use that number), which is totally useless as no one ever returns your calls. It was then that on the day I expected to move I went to the office again to ask for the key and sign the contract and the employee named Sinna told me that she was waiting for my fees. I said that because I arrived in the United States at the end of the year, I didn't have taxes for 2021, but she said that without that, she wouldn't be able to finalize the contract. Plus, she said that the residents were supposed to leave that day and that in a few weeks I could move in, that the apartment was reserved for me. With this 2021 tax problem, I hired an accountant and the next day I made my taxes and sent email to Sinna. At the end of the day, before closing the office, my fiance went over there and the office workers just changed the whole story! They said they didn't have any more apartments available and turned their backs on us! It's absurd, because when I applied, I was on the condominium's website that had apartment A1B available! I paid insurance, deposit, paid taxes, presented all the requested documentation and now I have nowhere to live because I have already left my apartment in New Jersey! They are not supportive and make no effort to help. So, if one day you intend to live in this condominium, pay attention and read this post! Be careful because this...
Read moreDO NOT RENT HERE! Had the worst experience with management and even up to the Executive Vice President of Taymil partners. I needed to break my lease, so I gave 60 day notice to vacate and was told if they got someone else in the unit I would be charged less than the three month maximum penalty as it states in the lease. I called them a month or so after we had moved out and spoke with Jennifer who told us no one had rerented yet. We told her to call us when it was rented so we would know how much we owe. Neither she nor the office ever contacted us nor did they attempt to. Finally in April (over 8 months since we moved out) we received a collection notice for 4 months rent plus a $250 cleaning fee and no refund of our $500 security deposit. When we called them it was after hours so we left a message for their answering service to call us back immediately. They never called back. We finally went in and spoke with Jennifer face to face who told us we should have received a letter. They clearly never sent it, because all my other mail has been forwarded to my new address. When I asked her why we were being charged 4 months she said because that's how long it took them to rent the apartment. I asked her why what she had told us and what was in the contract were different than what happened and she said she would have to reach out to the Vice President (Patrick Wolfgang) about getting the amount changed to the three months she had told us. Jennifer said she would call us the next day to let us know what he said. You guessed it. Next day, no phone call. She finally called the following day to tell me she could not get a hold of him. Surprised? HA. She told me should call me on Tuesday and let me know. I called her Tuesday and she told me he said no, we had to pay the 4 months, which I said we would not, and she offered me his contact information.
I left a voicemail and emailed him and got a reply shortly after he would be away for another week (which makes me think Jennifer never even spoke with him) and an emergency contact email. This is great...he misspelled the name of his own company in the auto reply email name. Not only are they crooks, they are incompetent fools! I also called their general phone number and left a message too. Still no...
Read moreI moved in February first 2015 since the day we have moved into our apartment we have had continuous problems with various things in this unit! First and foremost, we were told to give a list of things we found wrong in this apartment. Since that list and it is now August only one out of nine things has been taken care of which was a new set of keys because the keys they gave us didn't work. The only other thing they did was give us a new stove because they wired it wrong and I was was electrocuted and sent to the emergency room. Continuously we have asked for things to get done in here and have had poor service and little response to effectively getting issues taken care of. I have continuously emailed and called the manager to explain about the tub cracking, mold in the kitchen, a broken microwave that turns on by itself and leaks that have gotten extremely bad filling an entire large bowl per day which drips over our stove so we are now unable to cook with that unit as it is now a hazard. The leaks we have been asking to get repaired since May but they have not been taken care of. The lights constantly flicker, the hallways always smell horrible and the carpets are extremely dirty as they are never cleaned. The neighbors are extremely loud at late hours of the night and people are constantly speeding through the parking lot with young kids playing. We are very disappointed about the poor service and unhealthy living conditions. Honestly we thought living in Ashland which seems to be an ok area would be a good thing for us, but you might as well live in the ghetto! Also to top it all off someone tried stealing my tire of my Honda Accord, but didn't succeed. There are a lot of car break ins around the area, and shady people who hang out around the building at night time! The building constantly reeks of marijuana and smoke and the vents are never cleaned out! The air conditioner is controlled by the building so they it turn it on during the summer when they feel it is necessary! Wall sockets keep blowing light bulbs and the ceiling and foundation looks as though it could cave in at any moment! Honestly save yourself the hassle, because the cheap $1,105 renting is not worth the constant stress...
