Rockdale has been a part of our family for almost 10 years. From summer campers as little kids to rock band members now as teenagers, Rockdale has given our kids the opportunity to pursue their love of music in a creative, open, and fun environment. The teachers truly care about and are invested in their students. Since many of them are performers themselves, they give excellent advice not only on technical skills but on performing and composing as well.

When COVID hit last year, Jared and the Rockdale team hit the ground running finding ways to keep the show going. Virtual lessons and a music video showcase helped bring some normalcy to our kids' lives as we all navigated the early days of quarantine. It felt like coming home when the kids were able to come see the new studio and play music with their friends in person for the first time in many months. Our kids have been working with Jared, Cecilia, and the Rockdale teachers for years. They are truly gifted teachers that make music fun. Even during the pandemic the teachers found innovative ways to keep our kids engaged, successfully improving their musical skills while other after school activities languished . Live performances on a big stage that are recorded and streamed in private channel are great motivators for practicing. Before the pandemic these performances have led to numerous gigs including the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia for our son's rock band (Go Crimson Sun!). Both of our kids have gained much more than musical skills with this experience, including self-confidence, experience performing in public, working together in a group, expanding creative expression, and making lasting friendships. I had my daughter’s 5th birthday here and we had a great time! Jared was great from when I first reached out until the end! The space was very nice and kid friendly. The weather was pretty good, so we were able to use the indoor and outdoor spaces. The young lady that hosted/DJ’d the party (I wish I could remember her name) was wonderful! She helped the kids with the instruments and also dealt with numerous song requests from kids and parents! She used my playlist and she was also able to make additional song selections from what the kids were asking. It is a unique space and something different than typical karaoke. Some kids sang, others played instruments and some just danced. So it worked for all the kids. I would definitely recommend this place for any kid who loves music and wants to be a rock star...
