Yesterday wasn’t a glorious day for me. It started with something as small as picking an outfit. My husband, with the kindest heart, told me my jeans looked good on me. But as I turned around, I made a snarky comment. Why? Because those jeans, the ones he was complimenting, don’t zip up anymore. From behind, they look amazing. From the front? Not so much. . Postpartum has been hard. My body has shifted and changed after having two babies under two. I wasn’t fully healed when we found out I was pregnant with Huxley, and the toll it’s taken has been overwhelming. . For a fleeting moment, during our family Christmas, I felt joy. I watched the kids bond, play together, and found myself excited about our upcoming Disney trip. But then came the car ride home. I cried - tears streaming down my face. I didn’t want to talk. I hated the way I looked in the pictures that were taken. I felt like a stranger in my own body. . When we got home, I told Jord I needed to grab groceries, but instead, I found myself driving to Rachel's Closet. Wandering quietly through the store, I tried to collect myself. I tried on a pair of jeans - hated them - and walked out of the fitting room feeling defeated. That’s when Rachel approached me. . She asked how things fit. I mumbled, “Meh, it is what it is.” But her eyes, they glowed with kindness and understanding. Without saying a word, her look told me, “You’re leaving here feeling beautiful.” I broke down right there and told her it was a bad day. And that’s when everything changed. . Rachel, with such compassion, brought Sarah on board. Together, they went above and beyond, staying open late just to make sure I left feeling like my best self. Their kindness wasn’t about the clothes, it was about their belief in me. Before I left, Sarah gifted me a coffee mug with the words “You are loved.” . That mug couldn’t have been more perfect for this season of my life. I am loved. I am here, in this exact moment, because my God and my guardian angels have a plan for me. I am exactly where I need to be. . This morning, as I sit here sipping coffee from that mug, I’m reminded that there are still kind-hearted people in this world who want to see you succeed. Rachel’s Closet is my go to favorite shopping spot for too many reasons to list! To me Rachel’s Closet is more than just a boutique, but also a place to go to feel uplifted and inspired, you can feel this the minute you enter the store. All of Rachel’s Closet clothes are all so unique and so versatile. I never have to question or second guess the quality of the items I purchase. They carry a huge variety-everything from clothing, to shoes, to jewelry and everything in between. All of the pieces that they carry can be styled so many different ways and can easily be carried over from one season to another. I also love how they share their strong faith beliefs with others, it is so inspiring and refreshing to see, especially during this crazy time in the world. Rachel's Closet is my favorite place to shop. The music is so uplifting, and in addition to their wide variety of clothing, they carry clothing for girls. They also have loungewear and pajamas, swimsuits, some decor/gifts, devotionals, drinkware, gosh so many other things and of course accessories. Speaking of accessories, I was a giveaway winner! Oh my goodness I love all of these pieces! And you know what is funny? I wouldn’t have picked any of these for myself because when I look at jewelry I get overwhelmed and can’t picture what is in my closet and what will match. When I got home I realized every single piece will go with pretty much everything in my closet! Why? Because the ladies at Rachel’s know their stuff and what to give that will be perfect for what is in your closet no matter what is in your closet. I was so excited to win something that I didn’t even care what it was. I would have been thrilled with the teeniest of prizes😂 I peeked in my bag when I got in the car and saw a bracelet and thought ohhh it is so pretty! When I pulled it out of the bag, I saw a couple of other things, pulled those out and there was still more in the bag! I not only won a giveaway but hit the jewelry jackpot!
