A direct bullet point from the Timbercrest website reads: Caring - Above all else we care about the well being and comfort of our patients, their families, and each other. Compassionate care and outstanding service are our commitment to you.
I would have written a private email to Dr. J but there is no place to do so. We have used this vet since 2008 when our family vet passed away. We have boarded and kept up with immunizations here.
This morning, we walked in with an obviously dying daschund. The receptionist was very nice and caring. We brought our Daisy in with her pet bed since she was in so much pain. She placed us in exam room 2 and we waited. And waited. Then our receptionist came in to tell us ''the vet is dealing with two large animals and we would have to leave our dog''. I asked if the two horses were dying? I told her to tell the vet that this was not acceptable.
Her assistant then came in, told us that she would have to ''catheter'' our dog before anything else was done. I asked why, since we have had other small dogs we have had to put down. She said it was the practices procedure and took her in the back. Three minutes later, she rushed into the room and said ''she's passing right now'', then and NOT so gently put her down on the exam table with her mouth hanging open next to my son. She was already gone. The most important and sad part of putting a pet down is being with him or her. We were denied that priveledge because of ''procedure''. I didn't want her to suffer anymore, if I had it to do all over I'd have kept her home. Second part of this, I told our receptionist that I had to get my mother in law to the hospital for a test, and to mail the bill. She told me they require payments for small dogs. She said ''there probably won't be a bill'', then went in back to check. She came back out, didn't say anything to me and had another customer sign a charge authorization. If I do get a bill, it should be for ''helping to prolong your dogs pain and suffering, because I don't have the time to change out of my overalls, horses are more important!'' Not a customer that will spend anymore money with this vet service. Steve Smedley,...

Care more about money than animals health.
We can't prove it, but we feel certain that they killed our cat. We'd gone there for years. They changed flea medication to Cheristin, and immediately our cat seemed irritated. She didn't seem to get any better (and 3 days later, fleas were back) so I called them. They said our cat should be fine, and it would take 3 months before the medicine totally eradicated the fleas. 2 weeks later, she still wasn't any better and had lost a lot of weight. I called them bawling, she'd lost so much weight, was lethargic, she seemed so close to death. This was 2 weeks before Christmas, so I asked how soon they could get her in and if we could be put on a payment plan. I was immediately told they would not even schedule her an appointment unless entire bill would be paid in full before leaving, & they couldn't even give me an estimate of how much it would be. They were so rude and cold hearted!! Called a different vet, they said get her in ASAP, we will work out payments. She was on special food to try to regain weight and 3 medications for two months, but there was no saving her. Multi-organ failure, we had to put her down. I asked the vet if it could have been the Cheristin and they said it very well could have been. Google "Cheristin killed my cat", there have been many. I will NEVER go back to Timbercrest. I understand that bills need to be paid, but when a pets life is hanging in the balance, I feel the animal should be more important than "immediately paid in full." And if not, they did not have to be so rude, callous and cold...
Read moreWe’ve had a cow down for days. No one returns calls. No one cares if your animal is laying on the ground, dying, for days at a time. When we did call AGAIN for pricing/options we were told that someone would have to call tomorrow because she couldn’t figure up what the service would cost. But no one called the last two days with our options, and here I am. Another day? When I requested Jay himself, as that is who my grandfather dealt with for years. The first time (Monday) I was told he was out all week doing large animal rounds. The second time(Wednesday), he no longer does large animals. Then the third (Same Wednesday phone call), he was on a conference call and couldn’t pick up. This is besides the fact that no matter how many times I corrected them, my name was sometimes Melissa, sometimes Jessica. Absolutely disgusted all around with the service. I guess it’s worth more to just pay someone to drive twice as far but actually try to save your investment. Still waiting on a call back from Jay which I’d be shocked to receive.
Update.
Not only did I never receive a call back, but I was told Jay himself said he WOULD not make time to see us, even after all of our troubles. (I confirmed that I heard her right) Then the receptionist would have to see if a different doctor is willing to come out. As if they do service calls for free just to be kind. The cost of a service call should make them willing. So absurd. So we will discontinue using Timbercrest after YEARS of faithful large...
