No one wants to go to Physical Therapy, and that included me, despite the fact that I am an OT, and fully understand the need for it. I was in a car accident and after a few days knew that I needed PT. But I didn't know where to go. I did what everyone else does, and I asked people and I researched. I tried one local clinic, but from the minute I walked in the door for the evaluation to the minute I left I just didn't feel comfortable or confident in the clinicians or the clinic.
Luckily, I remembered that a co-worker had recently told me she went to a local PT place and was very happy with the results. She mentioned that her therapist did a relatively new technique called dry needling. I texted my co-worker and she recommended Lauren at Performance PT in Attleboro. I called and left a message. The office called me back within 15 minutes and got me in for an evaluation with Lauren that same day!!!! From the moment I talked to Lori on the phone, to this very minute I knew I was in the right place!!!
ALL of the staff at Performance PT is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. I felt comfortable the minute I walked in! The clinic is bright and cheery, and all of the staff are friendly and genuinely concerned about their patients getting better. When Lauren started her very comprehensive evaluation on my, I knew that she knew her stuff.
I had multiple issues due to the car accident, and Lauren worked tirelessly with me to determine the best course of treatment. They do have multiple patients in the clinic at the same time, but the staff of PTs and Sarah the exercise specialist all work together seamlessly to give very individualized attention. I never felt rushed or ignored. I have made great gains with mobility, pain and function. The staff has worked with me to develop treatment plans and home exercise plans that worked best for me. I even went for some aquatic PT at their Pawtucket location. The therapists here keep up to date on new techniques and are constantly expanding their knowledge base.
In addition to that, they text you with appointment reminders, they have early morning and PM appointments, and they can even give you home exercises that you can access from an app on your phone!!!!
I would recommend Lauren and the rest of the staff here to anyone who needs PT. And no, I wasn't paid or coerced to write this glowing review. After a bad experience somewhere else, and being in the field, I just know a great PT and a great clinic when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFive stars are not enough for this PT group. I was the unlucky recipient of total shoulder replacement this summer with a challenging recovery ahead. Following past surgeries, I never felt the physical therapy administered was tailored to what I needed and suffered the long term physical effects of that. I knew I wanted a higher quality experience, researched local physical therapy groups, read the reviews. I chose Highbar based on those reviews. Not only have they lived up to what others have written, each and every staff member knows who you are, welcomes you and is always positive and encouraging. Lauren and Brittany are highly experienced, smart and invested in my progress. They are consistent, have communicated with my surgeon on multiple occasions to be thorough, took it upon themselves to do that in an effort to make sure I was being treated to the full extent possible. The exercise specialists, front desk staff and the other PT, PTA's are all just as conscientious. The communication and flexibility all around is top notch. If you need to go to physical therapy (which no one wants to have to go), come to Highbar and put yourself in the hands of those who can offer you a chance to be the best you can be. Thanks Lauren and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am an ice hockey player. After fourteen months of little to no exercise except walking it was time to start playing once the covid restrictions were relaxed and the rinks reopened. When I tried to play the first few weeks it was terrible due to muscle flexibility problems and hip issues. It was so bad that when I went to swivel my hips to turn left or right my hips would lock and I would just fall down. I live near the Attleboro Rink and noticed thatās where a PPT was located. I went to their website page and read all of the therapistsā bios. I called and made an appointment with Reid Holden since he is also an ice hockey player. Reid had me pretty much back to normal after 4-6 weeks. Anyone who has any kind of muscle spasms should also try the dry needling. Needling works wonders for spasms ⦠āitās kind of like popping a balloonā the tension almost completely goes away instantly. Those of you who has had back spasms knows what I mean. I have recommended several other hockey players to him since he understands the mechanics of the game and is also highly knowledgeable of his profession. Thanks for getting me back to the GAME ā¦.
