The road isn't open to vehicular traffic the entire way to the falls; it's gated, for access by employees of... the power company, I think? But you can still park near the gate and walk down. It was a cool and slightly rainy morning when we visited, so we didn't take advantage of walking in the water like others have. Still pretty cool, a little wider than many other falls we've seen in the UP. There appears to be some sort of trail winding along the east bank; we didn't venture too far along it because it wasn't exactly marked well, nor maintained, and seemed to have been the victim of erosion in several places. A little farther south on the road (closer back toward Autrain Forest Lake Rd), there's another place to pull out and park where you can see the other set of falls, which are even steeper (though much less water flowing over them).
