Woody Ridge Golf Course — Local services in Auburn Township

I have played golf at Woody Ridge since I was a child. I spent my most of my teenage years out there with family and friends. I have since left Shelby but always try to get out for a quick 9 with family when in town. Now with that being said they have the worst customer service ever. The amount of attitude and just rude customer service I get when I am just trying to give them money is crazy. I have golfed all over the country and overseas and the crew out at Woody takes the cake with the worst customer service ever. Maybe they forgot there is other options within 20 minutes of Shelby. My boyfriend and I showed up at this course, to just play 9 holes mind you, at 6:20pm on a beautiful Friday evening only to be turned down. Let's do the math...2 people + 9 holes = approximately 1.5 hours maybe. Probably shorter on a goat track like this one. What golf course turns down money when you're nowhere near "closing time?" I could see if we wanted to walk it or were trying to play 18 but that wasn't the case. We will never bring our money or refer anyone here and will greatly discourage anyone from considering this course...

Loved the course. Mildly technical on some holes which is nice. I'm not from around Shelby, but the people who golf here are kind of rude. I have two toddlers and a wife who's still learning golf and I had multiple interactions with a few guys frustrated asking to pass us. I've never had this issue in Ashland or Mansfield where I normally golf. So I'm just going to assume this place isn't very friendly to beginners.
