Absolutely a fantastic track. Each hole has its challenges and rewards good shots. The practice facilities were great for a public course. Range was in good shape and I have only hit off grass here which is a nice change of pace. The course itself was in amazing shape even though they have had little rain recently. Greens are receptive and fast; they also have lots of subtle slopes which helps the replay value. Tee shots here can be tough so play the right tee box. Only one of them is downright unfair and that is hole #7. Actually holes 4-7 is a really tough stretch. Overall a fun course I wish I could play often especially for the price. After playing another course in Old Orchard Beach, rhymes with moon bass, I was pleasantly surprised with playing Fox Ridge for the first time. Conditions, layout, and service were an 8.5 out of 10. Great views with some tighter and some wide open holes and elevation changes. Plenty of workers on the course trying to keep the place looking and playing well. A beautiful golf course with amazing staff. You can definitely deduce that the course designer, Lenny, knows what he is doing. Ed and his staff do a great job maintaining. The fairways are soft and lush. All carry. The greens are amongst the best in the state. Good pace and they hold. There are a lot of blind tee shots so it is advisable to bring some type of gps overview (18 birdies etc), unless you have a cart and can ride up and look at the hole.
