If you like racing go karts then look no further.
Wait - Went here with a group of 4 Saturday afternoon at around 4pm and waited about 1.5 hours. It is first come, first serve so you can't call to reserve. Unless you go weekdays and in the morning, expect a wait.
Karts and Track - the karts go up to 50mph which was super fun. The track is also quiet long with the fastest recorded time at 77 seconds. It has a lot of great turns and a nice long straightway.
Experience - you sign up for 15 minute sessions and I recommend more than 1 because you'll spend the first session just feeling out the track. They do print out your time sheet after so you can see your performance. The crew was friendly and quick to help.
Price - compared to other karting places I've been, prices are more than reasonable. They do charge you for head sock if you don't have one.
They have plenty of sitting area and lockers to keep your belonging. Bring a lock if you want it locked. I highly recommend bringing water if it's warm out and just in general to keep you hydrated.
What's really neat is the other side of the karting area is an actual track for car/drag racing and you can go check it out while you're waiting. Plus there are better bathrooms...
Read moreThis place has probably the best track and the best carts in the state. I've come once before years ago and had a blast. This time was different. Their website said they opened at 11:00 am, after they hosted an endurance race from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Their website does not allow reservations for the 13 minute session, so I arrived early at 11:14. There was no one in line, but there was about 30 to 45 people standing around with helmets and socks in their hands already. I told the guy I wanted a ride for 2 and he said that it would be a 2 and a half hour wait. I was confused and asked if they offered reservations, because their check in process takes about 3 to 5 minutes and I found it unlikely that they checked in over 30 people in 14 minutes. He said no. Turns out they let all the people participating in their league race check in before 11:00, and they call it "first come, first serve". They also require you to wait on site, i wasn't allowed to go grab lunch while I waited 2 and a half hours for a 13 minute go kart ride. Really disappointed...
Read moreI really have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The track is well maintained, safe, and very fun for competitive racing.
They also host higher level go-kart racing where you can race your own go-kart in the local amateur regulated racing series. So if you wish to get more serious in go-karting, I'm betting people here at PGP can help you. Or if you have a kid that wants to get into racing, starting at PGP would probably be a great place to begin.
The only negative I would say about this place is that they need to host some Super-Moto racing. I think they used to but all the neighboring residents complained about sound or something... I'm not sure why that would work because NHRA goes and does their drag racing at Pacific Raceways, and the custom go-karts come to PGP and they might even be racing 2-stroke.
All in all, if you're looking for a wonderful place for karting, go to PGP. It's...
