Of all of my family, I’ve had the best experience at Weimar and enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately, the way Weimar University has treated many of my family members, husband, and close friends, has left me heartbroken and disappointed. I believe it is only fair for those who are interested in attending or sending their children to Weimar University to know the following. When issues arise with individual students, parents do not get communicated with - many staff automatically assume the worst of students without asking questions, and they jump to conclusions without sufficient evidence. ATTENTION parents, please check in on your children if you have students at Weimar, because you may not be informed from the University and they will not give your children the benefit of the doubt. If they do contact you, don’t assume the worst of your children based on what they say, because sometimes the story isn’t straight. Unfortunately I know this to already be the case from people I know.
Be sure to pray and remember that you know your child better than anyone. I am usually one who sides with teachers, but the problems many people I know have experienced supersede average circumstances. The culture has become unreasonable, and rather than fostering an environment for growth, they take a strait-laced approach that is not open or clear. The conclusions are murkey, and parents and students alike are not communicated with. You cannot reasonably come to a conclusion without weighing all the evidence openly - even a common criminal in the court system is entitled to a fair trial. Families I know, as well as my own, have experienced a disrespect due to poor, passive-aggressive conflict resolution.
The book of Matthew and many other books of the Bible give clear guidelines on conflict resolution and management however in my experience, I have not found Weimar to follow these biblical truths. They get upset if you disagree with them, and they often act as though your salvation is based on your reputation (As if reputation was what Christ was here to fight for). Appearances matter much less to God than a heart that earnestly seeks Him. Here, facades have been built so thick that it is difficult to experience kindness or connection. If you make a mistake they hold it over your head and make passive threats. Weimar has potential, and I believe God can make this place into a beautiful and healthy place for students to flourish, but there needs to be change in the leadership before that can happen. Remember that Satan often tries to take God’s own institutions and turn them toward malice, as he did with many in the time of Christ. I hope this is helpful for someone. Pray earnestly before sending your children here or before attending...
Read moreA great place to work. People are kind and compassionate. It's a beautiful place surrounded by forestland in the countryside. The education is Christ centered. They also do community service through TCI. I highly recommend for those who want to escape the city life with all its stresses and draw closer to God through nature. I have been here since 2016 and I'm enjoying...
