Worton's Market Foresthill — Local services in Auburn

I moved to Foresthill two yeas ago. Wortons has been amazing! The food is amazing! The staff is amazing except for one female deli clerk. She has a bad attitude and is quick to shut you down on any special requests. I've been ordering the exact same pizza i would say 2x a month since we have lived here. I've never had any of the staff make a fuss or deny making the pizza the way I order it except this one lady.. 1/2 Cheese 1/2 pepperoni pizza extra cheese with the "rose" sauce (mix red/white). I've ordered this pizza so much they normally already know my order... but this one lady is always quick to shut me down. There is no sense trying to negotiate or argue with her. I've questioned her about the fact I've ordered my pizza this way for as long as I have with zero complaints or issues from the other staff.. She claims " it's our policy not to mix the sauce so she won't do it". If its a policy then why does evey single deli staff make my pizza except her... She claims cross contamination. I explained if you are willing to 50/50 a pizza the sauces touch so the "cross contamination " is still there so her reasoning isnt valid. She makes it not even enjoyable to go into the store when she is working. Whether im ordering from the deli or just shopping she has just a bad attitude. It's such a shock because this community is full of such kind friendly people to have a bad seed working at our community store makes me sad. At this point I'm done. The deli will no longer be getting any orders from me...

After a scenic motorcycle ride, our group of 11 stopped at Whorton's Market for lunch and breathtaking views. The food consistently impresses, and this visit was no exception. With everyone ordering something different, we got a good sense of their diverse menu. My salami sandwich was outstanding, easily one of the best I've had. Several others raved about their burgers, calling them the best they'd ever eaten. The menu also includes hot dogs, prepared hot food, and pizza. For those in a hurry, pre-packaged options are available.

Despite our large group and other customers, the friendly staff efficiently handled our orders, getting our food to us much faster than a traditional sit-down restaurant could have. We enjoyed our meals at the outdoor picnic tables, taking in the stunning, panoramic views from high above the treetops.

The best sandwiches in town. When I bring visitors to Foresthill, our first stop is Worton's Market deli where I always order a turkey sandwich on sliced sourdough and sometimes snag a bag of chips. We then go outside to one of the red picnic tables with "a million dollar view" of blue skies, mountains, and thousand of pine trees and happily consume our deli delights while basking in the beauty of the heavenly scenery and fresh air that surrounds us. Wrote a brief poem called I ALWAYS KNEW I WOULD KNOW THE PLACE inspired after my first visit to Foresthill (and Worton's Deli) - last stanza reads:

Along the Foresthill Divide where red picnic tables Invitingly ask the Sojourner to sit awhile and Look outward, one also looks inward in Grace, in prayer, in thanks for the beauty That life has given us.
