The delivery workers were OUTSTANDING! The reason why I'm giving them 1 star out of a 5 is because of Bonnie. Unclear communication was the main thing, and not following through with a phone call before delivery posed a problem. When they showed up without a warning, the delivery people were unsure about the removal of our bed. I was waiting for a phone call because my husband called a couple of different numbers to try and contact the person coordinating the delivery, but was unsuccessful. It was really unprofessional having to speak with Bonnie via text message. When we tried calling her from the number she was texting us through, she wouldn't answer and texted back that the number was only used for texting.... Then I tried asking via text if we would be helped with the removal, and no answer... When they showed up, they immediately called Bonnie, and the worker handed my husband the phone. My husband asked if we were getting help to disassemble the bed and take it to the road, like we were told. She said no, and that's not their job. And my husband said, "Okay.... Well, we were waiting for a phone call from you so we could confirm that, I mean, it was an extra $90 that we paid for... But, we are going to have to schedule for a re delivery because we need time to take it apart." She rudely told my husband that that was not her concern, and they weren't leaving our house with the furniture they came to deliver. We asked the workers for 15 min. I immediately got on the phone to call the store. We didn't have room in our girls room for their old bed and the new one coming in. As soon as Bonnie got on the phone, she made it clear that she didn't care what our problem was. She also didn't care that she did not follow through with a phone call like she said she would. I ended up losing my cool because she didn't give a crap. So, I highly reccomend this company if you want to be treated like crap after they get your money. They're all smiles and promise you the moon and the stars before you spend money. But after that, Bonnie will treat you like your scumb beneath her feet. It sucks too, because everyone else was AMAZING! But Bonnie is SO TERRIBLE that she makes that company what she is, disgusting.
EDITED to say: I got a lovely phone call from Bomnie cussing me out this morning telling me I left an incorrect and untrue review. So, for anyone interested in knowing, she's not only unprofessional, but now she's harassing me because of me speaking THE TRUTH! Don't do business...
Read moreI’m torn in my review, so scoring them in the middle right now as there is still time to make things right with damages, see below for some basic bullet points below:
Pricing was fair and delivery team was top notch, helpful and friendly gentlemen, two thumbs up for these guys.
We purchased over $7,500.00 in furniture and paid in full with my debit card.
Delivery was set for the day after our initial closing of the new house...the close date changed, so I called store to change the dates...so far all is well, new date confirmed...we get our new home soon and the new furniture the day after...
Well a day or two before said delivery, I called to confirm and that’s when not only did they not have correct delivery date noted but all my furniture purchased weeks ago was not planned on being delivered and no one planned to call and let us know. Had I not called I would have been left waiting.
Employees at the store are overall friendly but follow through and follow up are a bit lacking in my opinion.
Longer story short we had to have 3 or 4 different delivery dates to get all our things. Someone even had the nerve to state missing item doesn’t make or break the set...well it does to the person whom purchased it, otherwise we wouldn’t have bought it if we didn’t feel it made the set!
During the process and multiples deliveries 2 couches had damages, one has tears and another has a stain, we were told someone from the manufacture of the sofas would contact us...over a month later we are still waiting and no call or repairs yet made.
I know it’s holiday season but if your quick to take someone’s money then please ensure the experience is top notch and ensure all items arrived timely and without damages or ensure you assist in repairs in more timely manners.
There’s lots more I could add based on many calls and conversations but don’t want this to become any longer than it already is and no one will continue reading...it’s is likely expected that repairs will definitely not happen once I post this review...oh and after the last call we are asked to tell people about their store...no worries I will but I will also be honest about our experiences and let them decide what’s best for...
Read moreThis review is for All American Furniture and Mattress, not American Mattress, an online, Chicago based company.
My better half went to Mattress Firm for a purported $770 sale on an extra firm mattress she desired.
She soon discovered they wanted 6+ weeks for delivery and a boatload of fees and charges that soon pushed the price closer to $1,000. Not only that, they had no mattresses they advertised online in the store (at least not of her variety).
Then came the sales malarkey. Sale ends in one day (nope, still going). May be an additional charge for extra firm. Blah, blah, blah.
In short, they wanted her to go on blind faith that this mattress would suit her needs.
I had told her about All American Furniture and Mattress before. They’ve been in Lakeland for just about forever and, in fact, while passing by one day I discovered a truck from a major furniture store here in town (name withheld for obvious reasons) loading mattresses in to the truck.
It dawned on me that All American Furniture and Mattress was possibly making mattresses for these companies who, in return, slapped their labels on and jacked up the price 100% or more.
Hmmm, that’s interesting.
So, she decided to pay them a visit. Bonnie was helpful and allowed her to try out various mattresses. No sales pitch and no pressure. She even tried out a few recliners.
In the end, she bought both an extra firm mattress and recliner for just under $800 ($900 with delivery). Mind you, that’s for both, not each.
And did it take 6 weeks for delivery? Nope, about 6 days. Since they make the furniture and mattresses in the back area, there is no hoping it’s in a warehouse in Tampa or Outer Mongolia.
Also worth noting, delivery is handled by a separate company and they charge $99 for delivery, COD.
About the only thing they don’t do is pick and take away the old mattresses, but the city will do that free of charge if you can get it to the curb (Salvation Army or Lighthouse Ministries will also pick them up from your home under...
