The Stable Home Decor — Local services in Auburndale

I have been visiting The Stable, The Back Porch and The Seasons gift shops for 20+ years. I used to love going and would make several trips a year to shop with family and friends. We always bought many items because the price points and selection were awesome. I have noticed many negative changes in the past several years. We went to ALL 3 shops a few days ago and I plan on never returning. The staff is rude and not friendly at all. Not ONE person said a word to us the entire time or even cracked a smile. One staff member of The Seasons shop needed to get past us and not even a smile or an excuse me rolled off her tongue. My sister finally said “Oh sorry” and she just walked past like we did not even exist. In all 3 stores I felt judged for not looking like I should be there or being watched as if I was going to steal. I couldn’t believe how rude everyone was! Needless to say we plan on not returning. I highly doubt anything will change because I’m not sure you can make that many unfriendly woman nice again or even change the behavior. I also found the price points to be higher than I have ever seen so I will be taking my business elsewhere. Terribly sad to see a place I would look forward to going now a place I don’t ever care to go again honestly. I’m sure I will get some reply that you are just shocked and will want to speak with me to make things right again I say don’t think you can change that many unfriendly woman...

This review is for THE SEASONS GIFT SHOP If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Manager was horrible, yelling, and made a scene as I was paying for my items. Told me he didn’t want my dirty money and that I couldn’t buy anything at his store all because I wasn’t wearing a mask. The cashier was confused as she had already rung up and bagged my items. I spoke calmly as I attempted to explain why I chose to wear no mask, but this fueled him more as I wasn’t getting loud with him. It was clear he was looking for a big, loud confrontation. Of note, we had been to the 2 other stores on the property as well as the restaurant just prior with no comments from anyone. I come here annually with my mom and sister. We will NEVER be back! Extremely embarrassing situation while he was attempting to be intimidating, puffing up his chest. Really wish someone would have caught it on video. He followed us out and watched us outside....

While this isn't my type of store (being more into hardware and such), I can tell you that the women in my life do like it. It's fun to browse through things inside and outside here, if you're in the market for clothing or home decor or even outside paraphernalia.

For the guys, there's plenty of spaces to sit down and take a break or even going into the Back Porch restaurant for a quick meal or drink. I don't mind wandering through with my wife as she points out things that she loves, and then asks me what I think. Of course, I love it (if she does).

Since there are so many little businesses all within this same little area, you might as well make a short day of it and wander around through all of them,...
