My husband and I were very excited to be buying a car, that we had been looking for, that was PERFECT for our family! The price was decent, service was friendly and quick! Fast forward about 6 months later with one roadtrip to Michigan put on this car. My check engine light comes on (haven’t even put on 6,000 miles yet). No biggie. My husband plugs in his code reader and it’s showing a misfire in cylinder 2. Knowing we need to get it in the shop but, still a little irritated that this was even an issue since we just bought the stupid car! My car then overheats! The warning flashed on my dash for about 5 seconds then went right back to normal. I thought maybe it was a fluke temp sensor. Ended up taking it to V&H (spectacular service with all our previous vehicle repairs). I get a call 2 days before Thanksgiving that my car has a cracked engine block!!! I’m absolutely livid! How could this happen?! It barely overheated and everything seemed fine! We decide to spend the $10,000 on a new engine since we had no choice and came with an amazing warranty vs. a used engine. Made some pretty rough financial decisions right before Christmas as well. We go to Westside a few days later and explain what happened to Glen. No remorse whatsoever. His comment of “ohh so you let the coolant run low and it overheated and cracked the block!” And of course it’s going to be so expensive, you took it to V&H!” This man couldn’t even pitch in ANYTHING other than a quote from his “guy” for a used engine. We are a family of 5 and have 3 kids who have sporting events, doctor appointments, school Christmas concerts and so much more! And right before Christmas!!! I’m telling you. We left that dealership and I told my husband we were never going back and they are never touching any of our vehicles. About 4 weeks later (current time now!) my car is all fixed and ready to be picked up from v&h. They not only gave me a free loaner for a whole month, but called me and gave me updates on my car. Turns out, my engine was cracked internally with coolant running through the oil, singed pistons, serpentine belt completely shredded along with the coolant belt. So tell me this. He told me I let the coolant get low when I just bought this car not even 7 months earlier! Who needs to check their coolant (car also didn’t warn that it was low) unless SOMEONE knew there was a leak somewhere? Very very unprofessional of this guy! Never again will we go back and I guarantee I will also spread my story to everyone in the Stratford/marshfield/auburndale/edgar areas and further! “Value vehicles” my A**!! Do yourself a favor and go literally...
