Dollar General — Local services in Augusta

Just left the store and feel like turning back to tell the manager off! I’ve used self checkout once at this store and every time after that, it’s been down. There were no signs up this time and it looked like it was functional so I went to use it. I noticed my items weren’t ringing up so I stopped, took up the items I bagged already, put it back in my cart, and WENT BACK IN LINE. The line was long and only one person was at the register. The manager finally came to the front and says that Dollar General is discontinuing the use of self checkout, which I was unaware of. When I got to the front, I was explaining to her what happened and she goes, “don’t ever ever ever put items in the bag because then we’ll think you’re stealing and I can’t have that at my store!” While I understand that that’s true, I’M LITERALLY STANDING IN FRONT OF YOU WITH MY THINGS TELLING YOU WHAT HAPPENED! Why would you think I’m stealing and I’m at the register taking everything out of the bag?? Please save your advice for someone who needs it.
