Update: 10/14/2025 I wanted to circle back to give an update on the project that Abe and his team worked on at our home. After 2 years the deck looks like the day it was installed. Thanks again to Austin Deck Company - I would recommend this company to anyone that is looking to have a deck, pergola or any other project done.

Austin Deck Company – Wow and Thank You!!! Look no further if you want to hire a great company with rich history to build the deck of a lifetime. After Stephanie and I contacted Abe for a quote, it was apparent that he understood the scope of our project, and the challenges that he and his company would face, nevertheless, Abe was on our property in a quick manner to size up the job and was attentive to our vision, and directly put his knowledge and years of experience to work in making wise suggestions, and out of the box thinking. We had other quotes that were lower, (Austin Deck we not the highest), but in the end, we felt that the wide-ranging choice of deck materials that Abe could offer, (when other contractors only had a few choices), as well as the amount of detail that went into the site visit, quotation and care of the client, made it clear that Abe and his company were the right choice. We could not risk a project like this on unknown and unproven contractors. Abe provided multiple renderings and detailed information on our two-level deck build. We had multiple changes thought the design process and even in active construction, nevertheless Abe and his team were able to accommodate all changes. The deck build was very challenging as the location of the deck build was perched on massively sloped land that is cliff based overlooking the Lake Travis (Main Basin). Abe and his large crew showed up as expected on the first day, and Abe walked his crew through the design and construction elements of the job. The crew had the old deck demolished and the land prepared in 1 day. The crew had to mix more than 2 pallets of bagged concrete just for the 20 concrete footings that they had to lay into the even and uneven land. Multiple hours were spent with a jackhammer to get deep enough into the bedrock to ensure the job was done properly, but the crew handled it with ease. Abe and his team were extremely efficient and professional. The quality of the finished product far exceeded our expectations. The job was complete in 5 days! I can't believe I haven't rated Austin Deck Company until now! Back in early 2015 we got several quotes on a unique project we wanted built: a pergola over our existing deck with a strong enough structure to mount 30 solar panels on top (to shade the deck and simultaneously generate power), complete with structural engineering calculations to prove it could handle both the weight and significant wind up-lift forces. We also needed our contractor to work as a sub-contractor to our solar panel installers... which meant waiting to get paid by a third party. I work in mechanical engineering and provided Abe with my plans for the pergola. After visiting our home, he came up with modifications that made it both sturdier and more aesthetically pleasing than what I had envisioned. We LOVE having the "solar pergola" over our deck. We get a lot of compliments on it from friend, neighbors, and even a structural engineer! Now we are getting ready to replace the old deck, and we're talking to Abe again. I want to start by saying how incredibly satisfied I am with the work Walker and his team at Austin Deck Company did for me this spring.

They built a sizable deck—around 800 square feet—with multiple levels using high-end materials from Trex. I had been preparing for this project for a while, speaking with several contractors, and what really stood out to me about Walker was his communication. He was quick to respond, clear, and always provided updated visuals whenever we made changes to the design. One of the more complex aspects of the project involved resolving issues caused by a different vendor whom I bought a pergola from. Walker and his team went above and beyond to help me navigate and fix those problems.
