TLDR: Great rates but check with your city to make sure they are allowed to drop in your area. Some cities only allow certain companies to drop dumpsters and Been There Dump That won’t tell you one way or the other. Going with them gave me the opportunity to meet new people during the quarantine (my local Code Enforcement Officer)!
Pro: They were very quick in getting a dumpster in my driveway (called around 1:30pm and it arrived around 5:30). They were very nice and cordial on the phone.
Cons: First off, I just moved to a new city and had no idea there was only one company that was allowed to operate dumpster collections in my area. I found Bin There Dump That (BTDT) after a quick google search and called them based on the fact that they were reasonably priced. They were very good about getting the dumpster delivered to me that day (a Thursday). Late the next day (Friday), someone from my city’s Code Enforcement Office showed up at my door telling me that I needed to call the company and have them remove it ASAP as there was only one company that I could use in the area. I apologized to that individual noting that I was ignorant to the dumpster monopoly. The Code Enforcement Officer told me that BTDT knows that they are not supposed to drop in my area, and they have been doing so anyway, without divulging those details to the person requesting the service. They also informed me that there is litigation against BTDT for this exact issue. Anyways, I called that evening, I couldn’t get through to them, but the owner picked up the phone when I called the next morning. I had a relatively pleasant conversation with him and let him know about the encounter the day before. He acknowledged that there were some issues between them and the city or at least the company that apparently runs the waste management game in my city and explained his side of the story. He mentioned they don’t pick up on the weekends (I totally understand) and we worked it out so that someone would come early on Monday morning to grab the dumpster.
On Monday, after the dumpster was picked up, I called their office to talk about payment. I am not unreasonable; I was more than willing to pay for the dumpster, but I only had it for half the time allotted and had to deal with being middleman in their legal battle. I asked for a prorated price based on the days I had the dumpster and asked that the $50 “out of area” fee be waived. I didn’t and still don’t feel that that was unreasonable request and yet the best that they could do was waive the $10 charge for being .014% over the one-ton weight limit and gave me $25 off.
I don’t write this review to slander them, they were very cordial on the phone and very reasonably priced, but I didn’t like how they...
Read moreWe were delighted to find Bin There Dump That! Our son had used it when helping a friend flip a house—and told us about it. What a brilliant option. When I think back on the money I wasted paying other companies to haul my junk/stuff?! I want to tell everyone to file away this info for future reference. Whether you are doing a renovation or finally cleaning out your garage—spending a few hundred dollars to have a small dumpster in your driveway for about a week is the best. I also love that it takes the time pressure off. You can clean for several hours when you get home from work every night during the week—you don’t have to get it all finished in just one day. It is 100% worth the incredibly reasonable price....
Read moreExcellent customer service!! You know how it goes, a garage just accumulates and seems to continue to multiply carboard and junk. I finally had enough, didn't seem to matter how much I stuck in the garbage, it just continued to grow. So I got myself a dumpster. Customer service was top notch, it was delivered the day after I ordered it and dropped off right in my driveway. Drivers were very nice and I spent a week emptying the garage and backyard. Very reasonable price for a 10 yard dumpster, and a week of use. 10/10 would highly recommend and WILL be using them again...
