Whether y'all are going for the rodeo, concert, rides, or just to hit a few of the great food vendors, (yes, I went just for that), wear comfortable boots & layers, there will be a lot of walking, standing, & is Texas, it'll get hotter while y'all are there or colder. People are friendly, rodeos Always good, & if y'all want food suggestions the Cajun chicken was good, calzone on a stick was good but not Really a calzone, pepperoni & matza, & Very greasy, the person there was the only one who person I encountered. Chili Queens chili is honestly The Best chili I've had anywhere, & I didn't even want chili! Ate some of my man's & could not stop. Also Very friendly & helpful, patiently explained some of their menu & answered my Q & A. I'm now a life long customer, Chili Queens has a truck in Austin by the Domain. If u like cheesecake the Chocolate Kettle had the best Turtle cheesecake I've had to date, good sized slices & she loads on the chocolate, caramel, & pecans, cheesecake was moist & delicious, very friendly also. We couldn't believe we had 2 of the best dishes we've had to date from food vendors, we love food & have eaten Many diff. places so it says alot. Maybe we'll actually see the rodeo next year. Rodeo Austin's a Great place, been going since I was young, its better every...
Read moreGo early and buy your tickets online, if the event you’re attending there has the option. Another plus is avoiding the heat in the middle of the day!
I just attended the Austin Rodeo and thankful that I was off during the Spring Break weekday and able to get there early. Parking was much closer to the entrance and I was on the asphalt instead of a mud pit 1/2 a mile from the event. Online ticket purchasers are able to walk past the line of literally hundreds of people and scan at the entrance...walking right in.
Once inside, the area is well thought out and easy to navigate. We went during the rodeo, so we stopped in each building, making our way back around to the entrance/ exit and a quick walk back to the car.
My only complaint was that the “magic money” during the rodeo (charging up a plastic card with real dollars that is scanned by each vendor) is supposed to prevent theft, I assume. It’s all good, until the vendor scans your card multiple times and says they only charged you once...finding out your card is empty when you’re trying to pay for food and having to scramble for another payment method. Also, it’s a use it or lose it system, so once you charge the card...don’t leave a balance or it’s useless once the...
Read moreSo my husband and I came here for my birthday weekend and came to see the denim and diamonds tour with King George and Sir Charles. This was definitely a long time in traffic. Trying to get to the event center was horrible. We sat in the turning lane for an hour, and a 1/2 people were cutting each other, driving down the wrong side of the road, cutting people off. 🤯 It was a hot mess. The police and the fire trucks had a hard time trying to get through. Then, once we finally got to the exposition center. The line was at least half a mile long. 👀 There was no type of coordination at this event. Everyone was cussing, saying it was some B.S. 🤬 It was horrible once we got in, also. SMH, we paid for number seats once you got in. They just told people to sit anywhere. So this will be the last time we will come to an event here. There were people smoking cigarettes and weed right behind us. So we had to move a couple of times🙄 The singers were pretty good. I'm not really a blues fan, but it was just somewhere to go, but they don't ever have to worry about us coming again🤦♀️ Where them Fans At🎶... They will...
