My child attends dance lessons next to this shop from 10-11 every Tuesday, and has for the last month. Every time we go I look in the window of Fresh Ayer Sports because I want to go in and check out their bikes for myself and ask for his advice about best local fishing spots and pick up some bait. Their door says they open at 10am on Tuesdays, but until today they've never been open when I leave around 1115. So today as we walked out I saw the door open and was excited to stop in.
Then I saw that he had filled the parking spot next to me with bikes and disc golf equipment, and I couldn't open my car door to load some stuff in. So I went in and very kindly said 'excuse me. I can't get into my van. Is it possible to move one of those bikes please?' He responded 'is it possible for you not to park in my spaces? Those are for my customers.' (Nevermind that I was planning on being a customer or that he has zero signage up saying not to park there.) I responded with, 'oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see any no parking signs.' And he said 'well they're for my customers and if you park there then they have to park all the way back there.'
I rolled my eyes and was petty and got in my car and loudly told my kids that I definitely will not be a customer now. And then he proceeded to put his disc golf stuff in the spot I was just in so STILL no one could park in 'his' spot.
He was very rude and I will definitely not be patronizing his store. Also I won't recommend any of the other dance families go there either.
He lost another customer today. And based on previous reviews, I'm...
Read moreAgainst my better judgment, I decided to visit Fresh Ayer Sports because I had heard terrible stories about this place. However, it was the closest to my house, and I had limited time for what I thought would be a simple fix. It turned out to be a brilliantly terrible experience.
From the moment I walked in, the shop was disorganized and cluttered, making it difficult to navigate. However, the real issue was with the owner.
He was incredibly rude and dismissive, ignoring me for an extended period before finally acknowledging my presence. When he did, his attitude was condescending and unprofessional. He attempted to massively overcharge me for a simple service, and when I questioned the price, he became visibly angry and started yelling. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable in any business.
To make matters worse, I overheard him using derogatory language regarding another customer. This is beyond unacceptable and made me extremely uncomfortable.
It seems the owner has devoted himself to figuring out how to make the worst possible experience for a customer. Overall, this was the worst experience I could imagine in a bike shop. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs. The owner’s behavior is disgraceful, and the shop...
Read moreI came on here to write a review after meeting Chuck at fresh Ayer sports. We purchased a couple of bikes online and he was recommended as an authorized service retailer. I needed something small done to my new bike and he helped me with it. When I came on here to leave a review I noticed that he has received not very good reviews. I can see he comes off a little, I'm not sure the word, maybe off-putting but once I made my pitch about what I needed he was very helpful. We ended up talking with him for at least another 20 minutes about how great the bike we purchased are. They are the Velotric Nomad 2X'S. He is an authorized dealer for Velotric and I highly recommend you go and see him if you're in the market for a pedal assist bicycle. As for Chuck, thank you for your help today and I'm sure we'll...
