Bainbridge Organic Distillers is a small distillery in a small town that is perfecting BIG things! There's only 3 tables in their tasting room and a few outside in a covered area with some heaters but folks were coming and going the entire time we were there! We each started with a tasting flight to get the lay of the land and so glad we did! Each and every tasting was dramatically different with their own taste and texture. Yes, to me, whiskey has texture!! Of course we just had to try the Yama even at $15 a tasting!! We were hooked immediately and completely understood and supported the cost, a bottle is now in our collection! The Vanilla Vodka is also a must have, it's so smooth and rich it can be sipped or mixed with just about anything! Had some with a splash of orange juice and it's the perfect creamsicle! My wife and I had an outstanding time here today. Connor told us so many interesting things about the distillery and its spirits. He was super knowledgeable and friendly, as was his co-worker Erin. He served us a couple of tasting flights, and we bought a bottle of the Battle Point whiskey, their signature spirit. This was perhaps the best experience I’ve had at a distillery, and I’ve been to over a dozen, mainly in Portland. Everything we tasted was well done. I hope they get better distribution in Oregon. Master Distiller and owner Keith Barnes is running a really fine outfit here with a great future. Be sure to ask for their beautifully printed brochure/booklet. Love these folks and their products. I'm not a gin drinker*, but I actually enjoy both of their offerings. I love that you can taste every thing before committing to a purchase (ahem.. Nick), we loved everything we tasted so we bought one of each (chocolates too!). I also love that they have limited offerings of whiskey that is aged in barrels from distilleries/wineries/bodegas from islands around the world. The tour of the distillery was led by a very informed young lady, everyone in our group had a great time. The barrel aged Maple Syrup..... excellent, makes a great Old Fashioned. I feel fortunate to live so close to such an accomplished organic distillery!
