Egg Rock Overlook — Local services in Bar Harbor

This is the alternative place to watch sunrise if you were unable to get the ticket for cardillac mountain. !!! It looks great but I believe the sunrise view from Cardillac mountain will be spectacular.

We could not get tickets for the cardillac mountain for sunrise. But we were lucky to get a daytime ticket at 7.30 am. So we visited this place to see the sunrise at 5.30 am and there were parking places available. We spent our time here watching the sunrise. It was good. This is the place you can watch sunrise by sitting in the car.

It was a beautiful sunrise view. But I wished to look it from Cardillac but those tickets sold out very quickly in 1 minute. However we spent good time here and later headed to the cardillac. However I am happy to say I didn't miss the US's...

We ended up here when we were trying to watch sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. There was no parking so it was closed, and we were just looking for another place to stop instead. This spot had a perfect little place to pull over, and a wonderful view of the sunrise over the water! We hopped out of the car and sat on the rocks along the road to watch the sunrise and it was one of the prettiest...

One hundred and ten percent breathtaking. This is my personal spot to see the sun rise if your interested in being the first in the nation to awaken with the rising sun.

Also a prime spot for minimal tourists, still near the road (little known) if you are pre or post season while visiting! (not a chance during the flocks of tourist season!)
