We visited on a late morning in late June 2025.
We pulled in and got the last spot in the parking lot across the street. We had another family member who had to wait a min for another car to leave. It's a very small lot which holds only about 12 cars. Also there is no road side parking here because the road actually splits into an upper and lower here. So you'll have to park before this split or drive through and park after if the parking lot is full.
It's a short walk across the street and then down the stairs to the otter cliff overlook. There were a few families out here so it can be difficult to get great photos without editing people out. Tot he right it's a rocky cliff background and to the left you get more of a forested shoreline view. There were also some pretty purple/pink flowers blooming when we visited.
I would be careful with small children around here.
We only stayed about 10 mins for photos and left. There are more interesting things to see and do. I don't know if I would visit this exact spot again. Maybe if it wasn't busy and some more dynamic lighting for photos like sunrise or sunset. Even overcast skies would've probably been nice. We had pretty clear skies and just full on late...
Read moreThis place is too far out and I mean that in a good way, easy drive, easy location. Get there approximately 6:30 AM park at sandbeach. Walk the trail next to the coast. For some amazing viewpoints, they even have stairs down for you to walk down and get on The Rocks, absolutely incredible spot. I've been to places like sunset cliffs. All up and down the west coast and for a sunset well, they do have it, but as far as a sunrise, this is the place to be absolutely incredible. We did regular shots, hyperlap shots, slow motion shots, pictures of us. This was truly an amazing, sunrise, a beautiful morning, with a beautiful woman. The love of my life. This will be remembered. Until our dying days highly recommend uc sunrise at otter cliff overlook as soon as possible. I repeat, go now. The weather is incredible end of October. The fall leaves. Add it an extra cherry on top...
Read moreThe path between the two Otter overlooks is a very nice one along the shore. It goes downhill from the Otter Cliff to the Otter Point.
What I suggest is for you to park after the Otter Cliff and close to Otter Point on the side of the road. Come back to entre point of Otter Cliff by waking along the street and then walk along the path. At its exit point you’ll be close to your car, and ready to go to continue your route.
It was a foggy day when we did it, but it was still very enjoyable. We passed by it a few days earlier...
