The 5 stars is for the view and not for the location so to speak. There is an unassuming dirt lot off the highway with a sign marker explaining the area. The view is very interesting and unusual. This canyon is very much like Yellowstone Canyon. I heard Starship Troopers was filmed here and might be how I was aware of it when I drove by on the way home from Yellowstone.

BE CAREFUL if you decide to be as foolish as I was. They fence it off for a reason. Appreciate it...
