I'm hesitant to rate this so highly bc I don't want this gem to start getting overcrowded, but it is what it is and DV is an excellent golf resort for any group looking to do a low key golf trip.
They have 3 9-hole courses and the rates are super reasonable. I've gone there multiple times with groups of 7+ and they have always been very accommodating of our tee times/groupings.
The layout is very interesting and they have some holes (like a 110yd par 3 that plays 60 yard bc of a 100ft drop off) that are unlike anything else I've played. The conditions are fairly average, but considering where it is and how much you're paying, it's actually quite solid.
The hotel next door makes lodging easy and nearby Hi-Point steak house is perhaps the best bang for buck meal I've ever had. There's even a gas station less than a half mile away that has groceries, hot food options, and a full coffee bar.
If you're looking to play a quick golf trip for under $500, it's hard to beat...
Read moreOur suite smelled like 40 years of cigarettes and you could see where they attempted to clean the nicotine from the walls, the outlet next to our bed didn't have enough power flow for my phone to charge, and the GFCI next to the sink didn't work at all. The waterpark is good for the area and they have a pretty cool secret arcade, never seen anything like it. The restaurant was closed nearly the entire time we were there and they have little choices for food in the hotel, no vending machines, etc. You have to travel pretty far for anything that isn't bar food, and the Kwik trip nearby closes early, so prepare to bring food, also the in room fridge was missing parts to the door so it could hold nothing, it froze everything in there and only fits about 3 water bottles in the remaining space. Probably the best hotel in the area, but I hope we don't...
Read moreFirst of all, we payed $125 for a hot tub suite which was incredibly dirty. We couldn't even use it. Then, the manager starts pounding on our door while we were sleeping and had the "do not disturb" sign out. Obviously he didn't care, and after we ignored his rude interruption to our rest, he begins calling our room. I pick up to hear the manager exclaim "did you not hear me knocking on your door?" To which I replied "did you not read the sign on the knob?". Anyway, he accused us of smoking, which neither of us do, and would not do anything about the complaints we made. Oh, but he did say he would not charge us for the "smoking" we did in the room haha. We are going to complain to his boss as well, seeing as how it was the manager who we had an issue with. There is a much nicer hotel called house on the rock inn, just a few miles away. Stay...
