Bass River State Forest — Local services in Bass River Township

I’ve wanted to hike areas of the Pine Barrens for some time now. Finally had a plan to visit and my husband picked this park. Incredibly friendly staff from the front gate to the visitors center. The trail map was a little hard to figure out but we found a trail right by the main parking area. Hiking shoes worked well because of the sandy soil but sneakers would be sufficient. Regretfully the trail we took didn’t take us to the lake or any water at all but it was a fun hike regardless. Upon returning to the lot a few hours later we passed the trail we wanted to take but we were too tired to go back at it. My son was happy to see water at the end of our excursion. My husband and I love to camp in the state parks near Philly, and this was our first time trying Bass River State Forest just a couple of weeks ago. We stayed for two nights, and were impressed by how huge the campsites were. The sites are very sandy, but this actually made it easier to set up our tent than it normally is at some other campgrounds. The hiking trails around the park are great, and the beach area on the lake is lovely as well. There are huge bathroom facilities, picnic benches and grills, volleyball nets, and more near the waterfront. There is also a place to rent boats by the hour to take out on the lake. The only downside was that the lake was closed to swimming the weekend we were there. Overall it was a really amazing weekend camping trip...

Мы были здесь с 30 августа по 2 сентября, пишу отзыв по дороге домой . Было здорово. Нам очень повезло, т.к мы смогли снять последнее место на этом кемпинге в четверг 29 августа , везде все было занято в честь больших выходных . Мы изначально хотели с палатками зону , но осталось только Lean- toss ( деревянный домик с печкой , кроватей нет , нужны матрасы ) . Мы до последнего не видели какой он , на сайте к сожалению мы не смогли найти фотографии . У нас все было впопыхах, но мы не отчаялись .

Что понравилось:

Место ближе к воде , рядом туалет , озеро в минутах 2 , можно рыбачить , кран с водой , возле воды огромная беседка где можно большой командой сидеть , есть лавочки у воды . Лес сосновый , запах просто нереальный . Мы проезжали места с палатками , в основном они были у дороги , наш домик был в глубине , что очень здорово , никто не мешал и было тихо . Есть пляж с спасателями до 18:00 , на пляже очень много столов с барбекю .

Что не понравилось :

На Территории нельзя арендовать велосипеды и любые лодки , можно свои или есть за пределами парка От нашего домика далеко душ , идти минут 10 , мы подъехали на машине ))) Но , есть горячая вода !!!!!! Это огромный плюс . Туалет был грязный и пахло , на нашей территории был как у бабушки в деревне , но где территория с палатками там ближе душ и туалеты смывающиеся .

Не смотря на минусы , мы отлично провели время . Поэтому от всей души 5 звезд , даже не смотря на туалет . Спасибо парку и природе за...
