Never have I written a bad review for any company until now. I work in the retail world so I know how things are and like to think I am very understanding but this place is just awful. The service is TERRIBLE. The staff acts like you’re a bother when yet you are the only customers in the place so you would think they’d appreciate the business and treat you halfway decent.
I’ve been here a few times but this last visit will be the last. We decided to take the kids for a game of bowling and the woman rang us up, 4 bowlers for $29. That’s when we mentioned the discount summer bowl they give for the kids and asked if they still accept it. The woman looks at us and says these words verbatim “Yes we still do it but I already rang this into the system so I can’t apply a discount. You should have said something in the beginning.” We hadn’t even paid yet and she tells us this. Being that the children were excited to bowl I went ahead and paid the $29 without arguing because I’m a super easy going guy. Much bigger things in life to get worked up over.
Now later on the lane was stuck so I had to tell the woman about it...without acknowledging my presence or a word I said, she walks past me and goes into the back. Left me standing there wondering if I was going to get help. So I walk back to the lane and eventually it became unstuck.
Not to mention the lanes aren’t well maintained, and the balls are absolutely horrible. I bowl for fun and could careless about my score but it’s not very fun when you can’t find a ball to fit your finger size (large) and that doesn’t have a million large dents.
There are far better bowling...
Read moreUPDATED ON 05/15/2019 (SEE BELOW.) You never know when this place will be open or closed. It seems that the seasons, and even the days of the week are optional for them. They can't keep regular customers because they aren't open on a regular basis. UPDATE: 05/15/19: So I tried to give this place another chance because I am an avid pool player, and they USED to have two pool tables in the bar. I walked in, and the pool tables were gone! When I asked the bartender why, he said that it was because they were trying to keep out the "riff raff", the "bad seeds", the "shady" types of people. WOW! I was astonished! If he only knew who he was talking to! In my experience pool players who go to an "establishment" (I use that term lightly in this case. ) that has pool tables, they do so in order to PLAY POOL! NOT cause trouble or get into fights! And speaking of the "bad elements" that they THINK they are keeping out, the time that I went there before that, when they still had pool tables, they had, as is usual and customary there, a DJ! Trying to make it a dance club! It was a Saturday night, at about 11 PM, and me and my buddy were the ONLY ONES there! And the DJ was playing music which typically appeals to TEENAGERS!!! (Think gangsta rap!) NOT EVEN music which I or my buddy even like! So if the idea was appeal to the audience (2 whole people) they failed miserably! And now with the missing pool tables??? And the unfaif, UNBELIEVABLY judgmental treatment of pool players??? UNBELIEVABLE!!! I guess playing pool isn't the "proper, Christian thing...
Read moreCame here for a Friday family fun night and had to ask twice if they could turn music on, then ask to have it turned up, the jukebox conveniently has its songs marked to a $1.00 a song so they can make you listen to old 70's and 80's crappy music. I had to ask to have the lights turned down and neon lights turned on, to which everyone cheered despite the crappy music that we were forced to endure. Then we asked if we could have today's hits turned on and we got some crazy mix of what my son called "screamo" and music I have never heard before. Sadly there is a reason this place was empty. This used to be a happening place that was fun to hang out and now they have to offer free bowling leagues and cheap prices just to keep lights on. Here's a hint, change the boring atmosphere and play good music... make it fun and people will come and you can make money hand over fist. Otherwise, I see closing and bankruptcy in your future. I miss the old days with Suburban Bowl. :( it's sad to see an old stomping...
