The dog is here still , most of them in the online site are still here they say, I finally get in the car two days later and call in route , they say that dog has someone that Is approved interested in it, I said I will turn around then, they said dont do that just come on. Right away get the sense they are playing games. They dont use a tag that says sold on a cage when that animal has been adopted that I can tell. Its like they dont want to get rid of these dogs, Something really wrong about this place. The pee smell being there for forty minutes just about got me sick, I feel sorry for a dogs nose which is much more powerful then a humans having to live in these conditions twenty four hours a day. The staff was very nice other then saying every dog that I was interested in was not available either sold or an interested party. I think the county should check into this place, they have not even called me back with my approval or disapproval . I have had seven dogs in the last 48 years of my life. the first three were from the same blood. I kept all of them there entire life. They lived inside my house, and had the life of riley. I dont think I will even call them to see if I got approved or not. The poor dogs , if you really care for them , put them all down , keeping them in those conditions and you use the word humane in your business name? Shame on you. I ended up calling the clermont county commissioners office, Just speak that name into your google mic it will give you the number. This is the first time I went to a kennel to get a dog, and probably will be the last. It would be one thing if the conditions in this kennel was not all stinked up with urine that gives out a smell of ammonia, Them wanting a decent home on the first adoption.. that would make sense. But these dogs on the day I was there and I dont know how often it is like this , they will all come down with something, God bless all these employees they are a lot of them it seemed and its not like they were not trying really hard. I know I am jumping around a lot but I dont think they even asked the right in depth questions or things like my social security number to get any...
Read moreI have now adopted 3 pets from here. When I adopted my dog back in January I had great customer service. He had heart worms and we had him in pre-adoption for a few months and they took care of all of the medical stuff as well as scheduling the appointments. We just adopted 2 kittens and have had terrible customer service from that side of it all!!! the first kitten we got to bring home that day the second had to stay to get fixed the next day and when we adopted them my husband clearly pointed out that the one that needed to get fixed had an eye discharge and we were told that would be taken care of well when I went to pick him up 2 days later he still had a little discharge and she said it would go away. At this time I informed her that the other kitten we adopted and had at home was now sneezing and had eye discharge as well and she said that it was normal as they adjust to a new environment and to give it a few days. They had scheduled him to be fixed in that few days time so he went in to be fixed and I dropped him off at noon that day and was told he would have surgery the next afternoon and to pick him up at 4pm that day. I come back at 4pm the following day and am told well he couldn't be fixed today do to him showing signs of an upper respiratory infection and that he needed to go on meds. for 10 days then we would reschedule. On top of that he was covered in pee yet his box was dry...... Well in this time Zorro who was already fixed started the sneezing and even more eye discharge. Now that Maltese was fixed I could finally get them into the vet and on pet insurance and they informed me that Zorro does have a severe upper respiratory infection and that they meds. are $200 after the discount. So I emailed the cat supervisor at the shelter and because he is fully adopted to us now they wont give us the same meds. that they gave Maltese even though Zorro's infection has been going on since we first adopted him! So as I said terrible customer service from the Cats/kittens department!!!!! If it wasn't for these poor animals needing loving homes I probably wouldn't go there again. But if I am able to adopt again in the...
Read moreFirst let me say that the staff minus some decision makers are great. The problem I have comes in that I was able to adopt a 75 pound dog in a day that I put 15 pounds on him. They were more then happy to get him in my family's life. We loved him and he is a great dog. Problem came in that he was a roughly 3 year old dog. I have a 4' high fence and he started to jump it and chase the deer in the woods behind our house. He is a super loving dog but I could take a risk financial that of he would have knocked over one of my elderly neighbors young kids or attack someone's else's animal. So I called explained and returned so that they could find the perfect fit. He's a great dog if I didn't mention that. I even left my adoption fee with them even when offered it back. So we came back to see if we could find a better fit and did. Filled out the paper again. Waited 3 days and called them only to be told I wasn't a good fit because I returned a dog that jumps a fence and that all dogs jump fences. We were looking at a 6 month old dog that could be trained instead of an older dog that has that taste of jumping a fence. Funny how I was ok to have bigger older dog but not ok to have a younger smaller dog. It seems that one person is making all these decisions and was even there when I filled out the new paperwork in front of her. Thought they were there to get the animals out of the shelter. If your looking the SAAP is a fabulous organization with plenty of options as well. Which I could give a better review but a few people have ruined my opinion of them and the way they handle things. Good luck if you go there in hopes of adopting your...
