HERE are the numbers Even WARDS admits the numbers did not add Up!

1 whole cow Hanging weight 548 Lbs Package Name Number of Packages Weight Round Steak 6 Packages 5 14.8 Round Cube Steak 6 Packages 6 9.2 Sirloin Tip Roast 3-4 lbs 4 Package 4 14.4 Sirloin Steak 10-12 Packages 4 11.8 Tenderloin Steak 4 Package 2 3.16 Rump Roast 3-4lbs 4 Package 4 13.1 T-Bone Steak 10-12 Packages 6 23.1 Prime Rib 5-6 lbs 2 Package 4 19.5 Chuck Roast 3-4 Lbs 12-14 Packs 16 59.4 Boneless Stew Meat 8-10 Packs 7 10.4 Burger 70-90 lbs 89 98

Total Packaged Weight 276.86 Total Cost for Wards Service $740

hanging weight of our whole cow was 548lbs packaged weight realized = 50.5%

We went back and talked to them and WARDS said "we should only realize 65-70% of the hanging weight in packaged meat." They suggested my scale was wrong. Nope, I used a digital Kitchen scale and checked the calibration on the scale ranges (low, mid, and High ends.)

I was missing about 82lbs of meat! (15% * 548lbs)

YES I weighed EVERY PACKAGE

Frustration: Paper name tags were often up against the meat instead of in between plastic layers

I would not recommend the use of...

So we bought a whole beef, in total approximately 3000.00 after everything. Half our beef was great, we even shared with family. However we discovered that some of the same cuts (on all steaks) were gamey to where we wouldn't even eat it. Family said the same on the beef shared, as well as a noticeable musky smell. Buttermilk soaking so our beef doesn't go to waste as no one wants to eat it. Shame...that was a lot of meat. Then to make it worse, my mom had 3 pigs butchered by wards despite my experience as they were the only place she could get. All but the sausage, though a bit salty, was so intense on the cure that no one wants to eat that either! Forget trying to cover it up in anything. Ham sandwhiches, soups, breakfast...nope... My mom literally was trading 3 of her hams for One store bought just to get rid of it. Processing needs some major rethinking, they need to go back to the drawing board. It was like getting half of one cow, and half of another. It is beyond disappointing that all that money towards farm fresh meat, was a waste. We loved the ranch ,Basket flat ranch where we bought our cow. Friendly, helpful and professional. However that ranch will never see another dime from us, because of their butcher....

NOT LISTED ON BBB

All I can say is WOW took 3 of my 4 pigs there decided to process one ourselves. Then after picking up the meat I was told there wasn’t much to cut off the pig and end up getting less meat from larger pigs then the smallest one we processed at home. By almost 20%) They even told me there was no bacon or ribs that could be used yet we processed very meaty ribs from again a smaller pig at home. Either they were lazy and wouldn’t cut it off, discarded it into waist or kept it. Either way we were definitely shorted. Especially when I asked for the tenderloin and ribs and got neither. Will not only NEVER go back but will warn everyone I know not to use them.

Package leaked and labels placed on the meat leaving a residue, looks like a simple saran wrapped that will allow freezer burn in no time.

PS. When I stopped in one day, I was completely grossed out. Not only were there flies around raw meat, there were fly traps out, no one had hair nets on, no gloves and people smoking right outside the door. One even walked in and stated to handle the meat without any hand washing or sanitary precautions. Everything was laying out on the tables uncovered as people walked around including myself felt...
